Installation [10/2022 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT NO. 1 HV BATTERY INTAKE FILTER 

    Refer to INSPECTION [10/2022 - ]

  2. INSTALL NO. 3 HV BATTERY CARRIER BRACKET 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

    Torque: 7.5 N.m (76 kgf/cm, 66 in.lbf) 

  3. INSTALL NO. 2 HYBRID BATTERY CARRIER BRACKET 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

    Torque: 7.5 N.m (76 kgf/cm, 66 in.lbf) 

  4. INSTALL NO. 1 HYBRID BATTERY CARRIER BRACKET 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

    Torque: 7.5 N.m (76 kgf/cm, 66 in.lbf) 

  5. INSTALL NO. 3 HV BATTERY INTAKE DUCT LH 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.
  6. INSTALL NO. 3 HYBRID BATTERY INTAKE DUCT 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.
  7. INSTALL HV BATTERY 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

    NOTE:
    • Do not allow foreign matter, such as grease or oil, to adhere to the bolts of the HV battery.
    • To prevent the wire harness from being caught, make sure to bundle the wire harness using insulating tape or equivalent.
    • Use cardboard or another similar material to protect the HV battery and vehicle body from damage.
    • Since the HV battery is very heavy, 2 people are needed to install it. When installing the HV battery, be careful not to damage the parts around it.
    • When removing/installing/moving the HV battery, make sure not to tilt it more than 30°.
    • While lowering the HV battery into the vehicle, do not allow it to contact the vehicle.
    • As bolts with 2 different lengths are used, make sure to install each bolt to the correct position.
    • If the HV battery has been struck or dropped, replace it.

      1. To prevent scratches or damage, use protective sheets to protect the vehicle interior and body.
      2. Using a suitable adaptor such as straps and 4 hooks, install the HV battery while tilting it.
        NOTE:

        Set the 4 hooks as shown in the illustration.

      1. Set cardboard.
      2. Push the HV battery to the LH side of the vehicle as shown in the illustration.
      3. Push the HV battery to the rear of the vehicle as shown in the illustration.

      *1 No. 2 hybrid battery carrier bracket - -
      *a Bolt (A)
      (Bolt Length: 25 mm (0.984 in.))      		 *b Bolt (B)
      (Bolt Length: 24 mm (0.945 in.))
      *c Vehicle body - -
      1. Adjust the center of the bolt holes of the No. 2 hybrid battery carrier bracket toward the rear of the vehicle to align with the center of the bolt holes of the vehicle body.
      2. Temporarily install the HV battery to the vehicle body with the 4 bolts (A) and 2 bolts (B).
      3. Fully tighten the 4 bolts (A).

        Torque: 19 N.m (194 kgf/cm, 14 ft.lbf) 

      4. Fully tighten the 2 bolts (B).

        Torque: 19 N.m (194 kgf/cm, 14 ft.lbf) 

  8. CONNECT FLOOR WIRE 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves and protective goggles.
    1. for A25A-FXS

      w/ Voltage Inverter

      *a Shield Ground - -
      1. Connect the shield ground to the HV battery with the nut.

        Torque: 7.5 N.m (76 kgf/cm, 66 in.lbf) 

      2. Engage the claw to connect the floor wire.
      3. Connect the 2 No. 1 traction battery device box assembly connectors.
        NOTE:

        Make sure that the connectors are connected securely.

    2. for A25A-FXS

    3. for T24A-FTS

      w/ Voltage Inverter

      *a Shield Ground - -
      1. Connect the shield ground to the HV battery with the 2 nuts.

        Torque: 7.5 N.m (76 kgf/cm, 66 in.lbf) 

      2. Connect the 2 No. 1 traction battery device box assembly connectors.
        NOTE:

        Make sure that the connectors are connected securely.

    4. for T24A-FTS

  9. CONNECT HV BATTERY CHARGER WIRE (for T24A-FTS) 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves and protective goggles.

      *a Shield Ground - -
      1. Using an insulated tool, Install the HV battery charger wire with the 2 nuts.

        Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf/cm, 71 in.lbf) 

      2. Using an insulated tool, connect the shield ground to the HV battery with the nut.

        Torque: 7.5 N.m (76 kgf/cm, 66 in.lbf) 

  10. CONNECT NO. 2 HV FLOOR UNDER WIRE (for T24A-FTS) 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8
  11. CONNECT FLOOR UNDER WIRE (for A25A-FXS) 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves and protective goggles.

    NOTE:

    Make sure that the connectors are connected securely.
  12. INSTALL NO. 6 HV BATTERY SHIELD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    WARNING:
    • Be sure to wear insulated gloves and protective goggles.
    • Tapping cannot be performed on the bolt holes shown in the illustration.

      *A: for A25A-FXS

      *B: for T24A-FTS

      *a: Areas where tapping is prohibited

    • If tapping is performed, electrical leakage, the spraying of electrolyte, and short circuits may result, leading to electrical shock or fire.
    • When tapping is required, replace the HV supply battery assembly with a new one.

      *1 Battery Cover Lock Striker - -
      *a Button *b Push
      1. Install the No. 6 HV battery shield sub-assembly to the HV battery with the 2 bolts and 3 nuts.

        Torque: 7.5 N.m (76 kgf/cm, 66 in.lbf) 

      2. Install the battery cover lock striker, then push the button to lock it.
    2. for T24A-FTS

      *1 Battery Cover Lock Striker - -
      *a Button *b Push
      1. Install the No. 6 HV battery shield sub-assembly to the HV battery with the 2 bolts and 3 nuts.

        Torque: 7.5 N.m (76 kgf/cm, 66 in.lbf) 

      2. Install the battery cover lock striker, then push the button to lock it.
  13. INSTALL BATTERY COOLING BLOWER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [10/2022 - ]

  14. INSTALL SERVICE PLUG GRIP 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  15. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 

    Refer to WORK PROCEDURE [10/2022 - 08/2023] , or refer to WORK PROCEDURE [08/2023 - ]
