Installation [10/2022 - ]: Procedure
- INSTALL SHIFT CONTROL ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY NOTE:
- When disconnecting a wire harness of any component connected to the supply power of the integrated capacitor (integration control supply) or when removing the integrated capacitor (integration control supply), make sure to wait 5 minutes or more after turning the ignition switch off for self-diagnosis to complete and the voltage of the integrated capacitor (integration control supply) to discharge.

*a Spline Portion of Shift Control Actuator Assembly *b P Position *c D Position *d N Position *e R Position *f 29.6° *g 9.83° *h Parking Lock *j 2-flats Portion of Parking Lock Shaft *k Spline Portion of Parking Lock Shaft - Check the spline portion (*a) of the shift control actuator assembly.
- If the spline portion is in the D position, perform step (ii).
- If the spline portion is in the N position, perform step (iii).
- If the spline portion is in the R position, perform step (iv).
- If the spline portion is in the P position, perform step (v).
- If the spline portion (*a) of the shift control actuator assembly is in the D position:
Using a pair of pliers, grip the spline portion (*k) of the parking lock shaft that has been wrapped with a cloth or other material and rotate it 3 notches in the direction shown by the arrow in the illustration to release the parking lock.
NOTE:- Do not rotate the wheels of the vehicle.
- Do not grip the 2-flats portion (*j) of the parking lock shaft.
- Make sure to use a cloth or other material to prevent damage to the spline portion (*k) of the parking lock shaft.
- If the spline portion (*a) of the shift control actuator assembly is in the N position:
Using a pair of pliers, grip the spline portion (*k) of the parking lock shaft that has been wrapped with a cloth or other material and rotate it 2 notches in the direction shown by the arrow in the illustration to release the parking lock.
NOTE:- Do not rotate the wheels of the vehicle.
- Do not grip the 2-flats portion (*j) of the parking lock shaft.
- Make sure to use a cloth or other material to prevent damage to the spline portion (*k) of the parking lock shaft.
- If the spline portion (*a) of the shift control actuator assembly is in the R position:
Using a pair of pliers, grip the portion (*k) of the parking lock shaft that has been wrapped with a cloth or other material and rotate it 1 notch in the direction shown by the arrow in the illustration to release the parking lock.
NOTE:- Do not rotate the wheels of the vehicle.
- Do not grip the 2-flats portion (*j) of the parking lock shaft.
- Make sure to use a cloth or other material to prevent damage to the spline portion (*k) of the parking lock shaft.
- Temporarily install the shift control actuator assembly to the automatic transaxle assembly with the 3 bolts in the order shown in the illustration.
- Fully tighten the 3 bolts.
Torque: 17.5 N.m (178 kgf/cm, 13 ft.lbf)
- Engage the 2 hose clamps.
- Connect the 2 shift control actuator assembly connectors.NOTE:
Make sure to perform actuator position learning after removing and installing the shift control actuator assembly.
- Check the spline portion (*a) of the shift control actuator assembly.
- INSTALL BATTERY CLAMP SUB-ASSEMBLY
- CONNECT WIRE HARNESS
- INSTALL BATTERY
