Transmission Control Switch Circuit [09/2014 - 11/2017]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL SWITCH (TRANSMISSION FLOOR SHIFT ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the O77 transmission control switch (transmission floor shift assembly) connector.

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Transmission Control Switch (Transmission Floor Shift Assembly))
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      4 (IG) - 5 (S) Shift lever in M, "+" or "-" Below 1 Ω
      Shift lever not in M, "+" or "-" 10 kΩ or higher
      3 (SFTU) - 2 (E) Shift lever held in "+" (up-shift) Below 1 Ω
      Shift lever in M 10 kΩ or higher
      1 (SFTD) - 2 (E) Shift lever held in "-" (down-shift) Below 1 Ω
      Shift lever in M 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE TRANSMISSION CONTROL SWITCH (TRANSMISSION FLOOR SHIFT ASSEMBLY). Refer to  COMPONENTS [09/2014 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSMISSION CONTROL SWITCH - BATTERY, BODY GROUND) 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      (to Transmission Control Switch (Transmission Floor Shift Assembly)

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      O77-4 (IG) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      Engine switch off Below 1 V
    2. Turn the engine switch off.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      O77-2 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSMISSION CONTROL SWITCH - ECM) 
    1. Connect the O77 transmission control switch (transmission floor shift assembly) connector.
    2. Disconnect the A71 ECM connector.

      (to ECM)
    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A71-16 (S) - Body ground Shift lever in M, "+" or "-" 11 to 14 V
      Shift lever not in M, "+" or "-" Below 1 V
    5. Turn the engine switch off.
    6. Disconnect the spiral cable sub-assembly connector.
    7. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A71-8 (SFTU) - Body ground Shift lever held in "+" (up-shift) Below 1 Ω
      Shift lever in M 10 kΩ or higher
      A71-7 (SFTD) - Body ground Shift lever held in "-" (down-shift) Below 1 Ω
      Shift lever in M 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [09/2014 - 11/2017]
