DTC P0722: Output Speed Sensor Circuit No Signal [09/2014 - 10/2015]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT TRANSMISSION REVOLUTION SENSOR (SP2) INSTALLATION 
    1. Check the transmission revolution sensor (SP2) installation.

      OK

      The installation bolt is tightened properly and there is no clearance between the sensor and transmission case.

    Result: 

    NG 

    SECURELY INSTALL TRANSMISSION REVOLUTION SENSOR (SP2) OR REPLACE TRANSMISSION REVOLUTION SENSOR (SP2). Refer to  INSTALLATION [09/2014 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. INSPECT TRANSMISSION REVOLUTION SENSOR (SP2) 
    1. Disconnect the F48 transmission revolution sensor (SP2) connector.

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Transmission Revolution Sensor (SP2))
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 20°C (68°F) 560 to 680 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE TRANSMISSION REVOLUTION SENSOR (SP2). Refer to  COMPONENTS [09/2014 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSMISSION REVOLUTION SENSOR (SP2) - ECM) 
    1. Connect the F48 transmission revolution sensor (SP2) connector.

      *a Rear view of wire harness connector
      (to ECM)
    2. Disconnect the A71 ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A71-33 (SP2+) - A71-32 (SP2-) 20°C (68°F) 560 to 680 Ω
      A71-33 (SP2+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A71-32 (SP2-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE ECM. Refer to  COMPONENTS [09/2014 - 10/2015] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
