Removal [09/2014 - 11/2017]: Procedure

  1. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE 

    Refer to PRECAUTION [09/2014 - 11/2017]

  2. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [09/2014 - 11/2017]

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2014 - 10/2015] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2015 - 11/2017]

  4. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - 10/2015] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2015 - 11/2017]

  5. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - ]

  6. REMOVE INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the purge valve (purge VSV) connector.

    2. Disconnect the No. 1 fuel vapor feed hose from the purge valve (purge VSV).
    3. Remove the bolt and purge valve (purge VSV) from the intake air surge tank assembly.
    4. Slide the clip and disconnect the ventilation hose assembly from the PCV valve (ventilation valve sub-assembly).

    5. Slide the clip and disconnect the union to check valve hose from the intake air surge tank assembly.

    6. Disconnect the No. 2 water by-pass hose from the intake air surge tank assembly clamp.
    7. Disengage the 4 wire harness clamps from the intake air surge tank assembly.

    8. Remove the bolt and separate the No. 3 water by-pass pipe from the intake air surge tank assembly.

    9. Remove the bolt and separate the No. 2 surge tank stay from the intake air surge tank assembly.

    10. Remove the 2 nuts from the intake air surge tank assembly.

    11. Using a 5 mm hexagon socket wrench, remove the 6 bolts and intake air surge tank assembly from the intake manifold.
    12. Remove the air surge tank to intake manifold gasket from the intake air surge tank assembly.
    13. Slide the clip and remove the plug from the intake air surge tank assembly.

  7. DISCONNECT FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  8. DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  9. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  10. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts, 4 nuts and intake manifold from the cylinder head sub-assembly.

    2. Remove the 2 No. 1 intake manifold to head gaskets from the cylinder head sub-assembly.
  11. REMOVE STUD BOLT 

    HINT: 

    If a stud bolt is deformed or the threads are damaged, replace it.

    1. Using an E8 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 2 stud bolts from the intake manifold.
