Installation [10/2022 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL STEERING KNUCKLE 
    1. Install the steering knuckle to the front upper suspension arm assembly with the nut.

      Torque: 87 N.m (887 kgf/cm, 64 ft.lbf) 

      NOTE:

      Prevent oil from adhering to the threaded and tapered parts.

    2. Install a new clip.
      NOTE:

      Further tighten the nut up to 60° if the holes for the clip are not aligned.

  2. INSTALL FRONT LOWER BALL JOINT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the front lower ball joint assembly to the steering knuckle with the 2 bolts.

      for 2WD 

      Torque: 150 N.m (1530 kgf/cm, 111 ft.lbf) 

      for AWD 

      Torque: 120 N.m (1224 kgf/cm, 89 ft.lbf) 

  3. CONNECT TIE ROD ASSEMBLY (for AWD) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  4. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE DUST COVER (for 2WD) 
    1. Install the front disc brake dust cover to the steering knuckle with the 4 bolts.

      Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf/cm, 71 in.lbf) 

  5. INSTALL FRONT AXLE HUB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 2WD) 

    See step  1

  6. INSTALL FRONT AXLE HUB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for AWD) 

    See step  2

  7. INSTALL FRONT DISC (for AWD) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  8. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY (for AWD) 

    See step  15

  9. TEMPORARILY INSTALL FRONT AXLE SHAFT NUT (for AWD) 

    See step  5

  10. SEPARATE FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY (for AWD) 

    See step  5

  11. REMOVE FRONT DISC (for AWD) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  12. INSPECT FRONT AXLE HUB BEARING LOOSENESS 

    See step  4

  13. INSPECT FRONT AXLE HUB RUNOUT 

    See step  5

  14. INSTALL FRONT DISC 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  15. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the front disc brake caliper assembly to the steering knuckle with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 135 N.m (1377 kgf/cm, 100 ft.lbf) 

      NOTE:
      • Do not twist the front flexible hose when installing the front disc brake caliper assembly.
      • Make sure that there is no foreign matter on the threads of the bolt.
      • If a bolt is deformed or damaged, replace it.
      • Do not overtighten the bolts because the steering knuckle is made of aluminum and may be damaged.
  16. INSTALL FRONT AXLE SHAFT NUT (for AWD) 

    See step  12

  17. CONNECT FRONT SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE (for 2WD) 

    See step  13

  18. INSTALL FRONT SPEED SENSOR (for AWD) 

    See step  14

  19. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [10/2022 - ]

  20. INSPECT AND ADJUST FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT 

    Refer to ADJUSTMENT [09/2020 - ]

  21. CHECK FOR SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL 

    Refer to TEST MODE PROCEDURE [10/2022 - ]
