Disassembly [07/2020 - 11/2021]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  2. REMOVE FRONT TURN SIGNAL LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  3. REMOVE FRONT TURN SIGNAL LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  4. REMOVE FRONT CORNER ULTRASONIC SENSOR (w/ Intuitive Parking Assist System) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  5. REMOVE FRONT CORNER ULTRASONIC SENSOR RETAINER (w/ Intuitive Parking Assist System) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  6. REMOVE FRONT CENTER ULTRASONIC SENSOR (w/ Intuitive Parking Assist System) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  7. REMOVE NO. 4 ENGINE ROOM WIRE 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the other side.

    1. w/ Intuitive Parking Assist System:
      1. Disconnect the connector.

      2. Detach the clamp and remove the No. 4 engine room wire.
    2. w/o Intuitive Parking Assist System:
      1. Disconnect the connector and remove the No. 4 engine room wire.

  8. REMOVE ULTRASONIC SENSOR CLIP (w/ Intuitive Parking Assist System) 

    HINT: 

    • When removing the ultrasonic sensor clip, if the double-sided tape is difficult to remove, heat the adhesive of the ultrasonic sensor clip and front bumper cover using a heat light.
    • Use the same procedure for all ultrasonic sensor clips.

    WARNING:
    • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts.
    • Touching the heat light may result in burns.

    Do not heat ultrasonic sensor clip excessively.

  9. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER MOUNTING BRACKET 
    1. Detach the 2 clips and remove the front bumper mounting bracket.

  10. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE (OR FRONT PANEL) EMBLEM 
    1. Remove the 2 screws.

    2. Detach the claw and guide and remove the radiator grille (or front panel) emblem.

  11. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER EXTENSION MOUNTING BRACKET 
    1. Remove the 2 screws and front bumper extension mounting bracket.

  12. REMOVE LOWER SIDE RADIATOR GRILLE LH 
    1. Detach the claw and remove the lower side radiator grille LH.

  13. REMOVE LOWER SIDE RADIATOR GRILLE RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  14. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER GARNISH LH

    *1 Front Bumper Side Retainer
    Remove in this Direction
    Protective Tape
    1. Apply protective tape around the front bumper garnish LH.
    2. Remove the 2 screws and front bumper side retainer.
    3. Detach the clip and claw and remove the front bumper garnish LH.
    4. Remove the protective tape.
  15. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER GARNISH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the front bumper garnish LH.

  16. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER HOLE COVER RH 
    1. Detach the claw.

    2. Detach the fall prevention hook from guide and remove the front bumper hole cover RH.

  17. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER NO. 1 ARM 
    1. Detach the guide and remove the front bumper No. 1 arm as shown in the illustration.

  18. REMOVE FRONT FENDER LINER RETAINER 
    1. Remove the 2 screws.

      HINT: 

      Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

    2. Detach the claw and remove the 3 front fender liner retainers.

      Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  19. REMOVE FRONT MARKER LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH

  22. REMOVE NO. 1 FRONT BUMPER SIDE SUPPORT LH 

    HINT: 

    When removing the No. 1 front bumper side support LH, if the double-sided tape is difficult to remove, heat the adhesive of the No. 1 front bumper side support LH and front bumper cover using a heat light.

  23. REMOVE NO. 1 FRONT BUMPER SIDE SUPPORT RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  24. REMOVE NO. 1 MOULDING TAPE 

    HINT: 

    • When removing the No. 1 moulding tape, if the double-sided tape is difficult to remove, heat the adhesive of the No. 1 moulding tape and front bumper cover using a heat light.
    • Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  25. REMOVE NO. 2 MOULDING TAPE 

    HINT: 

    • When removing the No. 2 moulding tape, if the double-sided tape is difficult to remove, heat the adhesive of the No. 2 moulding tape and front bumper cover using a heat light.
    • Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

    1. Remove the screw.

    2. Detach the claw and remove the upper radiator grille from the lower radiator grille.

    WARNING:

    Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing.

    NOTE:

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [07/2020 - ]

  31. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to REMOVAL [07/2020 - 05/2023]

    WARNING:
    • Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative(-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
    • If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.

    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [07/2020 - 05/2023]

  32. REMOVE NO. 2 FRONT BUMPER MOUNTING BRACKET 
    1. Check that the engine switch off.
    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      • Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
      • If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.
    3. Disconnect the 2 connectors of the pedestrian detection chamber assembly.
      NOTE:

      When disconnecting any pedestrian detection chamber assembly connector, take care not to damage the wire harness.

      HINT: 

      Refer to How to connect or disconnect the pedestrian detection chamber assembly connector.

    4. Remove the 2 bolts.

    5. Detach the claw and guide and remove the No. 2 front bumper mounting bracket together with the front bumper energy absorber.
