Removal [10/2022 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE SERVICE PLUG GRIP 

    Refer to REMOVAL [10/2022 - ]

  2. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  3. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  4. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  5. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY

  6. DRAIN COOLANT (for Intercooler)

    1. Use the same procedure described for the LH side.
  32. REMOVE NO. 3 BATTERY SERVICE COVER BOARD

  33. REMOVE NO. 2 BATTERY SERVICE COVER BOARD 
    1. Use the same procedure as for the No. 3 battery service cover board.

  35. REMOVE FOLD SEAT CONTROL ECU (for Power Seat)

  40. DISCONNECT NO. 2 HV FLOOR UNDER WIRE

  42. REMOVE REAR DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY LH

  43. REMOVE REAR DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.
  44. REMOVE REAR STABILIZER BAR

  45. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY LH

  46. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.
  47. REMOVE REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY LH

  48. REMOVE REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

      Attachment Placement Location - -
      1. Using an engine lifter and 4 attachments or equivalent tools, support the rear suspension member sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.
        WARNING:
        • The rear suspension member sub-assembly is a very heavy component. Make sure that it is supported securely.
        • If the rear suspension member sub-assembly is not securely supported, it may drop, resulting in serious injury.

        NOTE:

        Use attachments or equivalent tools to keep the rear suspension member sub-assembly level.

      2. Remove the 2 bolts, 4 nuts, rear suspension member rear lower brace LH and rear suspension member rear lower brace RH.
      3. Slowly lower the rear suspension member sub-assembly.
        NOTE:

        When lowering the rear suspension member sub-assembly, be careful not to damage the vehicle body or other components installed to the vehicle.

  55. DISCONNECT FRAME WIRE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  56. REMOVE REAR TRANSAXLE WITH MOTOR AND INVERTER ASSEMBLY 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3
  57. REMOVE REAR UPPER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY LH 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [10/2022 - 08/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [08/2023 - ]
  58. REMOVE REAR UPPER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.
  59. REMOVE REAR UPPER NO. 2 CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY LH

      *a Bend Portion *b Hold
      Turn - -
      1. Using a chisel and hammer, bend the 2 portions of the rear suspension member front body mounting cushion LH rib.
        NOTE:

        Make sure to bend the 2 portions of the cushion rib until the claws of SST can fit securely.

      2. Install SST as shown in the illustration.

        NOTE:

        Apply molybdenum grease to the center bolt of SST before use.

      3. Using SST, remove the rear suspension member front body mounting cushion LH while applying lubricant into the clearance between the rear suspension member front body mounting cushion LH and the rear suspension member sub-assembly.
        • SST: 09830-10010

        NOTE:
        • Set the claws of SST into the rear suspension member sub-assembly securely as shown in the illustration.
        • Tighten SST slowly and evenly.
        • Be careful as the rear suspension member front body mounting cushion LH may fly out.
        • The rear suspension member front body mounting cushion LH cannot be reused.
  66. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER FRONT BODY MOUNTING CUSHION RH 
    1. Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.
  67. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER REAR BODY MOUNT CUSHION LH

      1. Install SST and apply anti-rust lubricant around the outside edge of the rear suspension member rear body mount cushion LH as shown in the illustration.
        • SST: 09950-00020 
        • SST: 09950-00030 
        • SST: 09950-60011 
          1. 09951-00330
        NOTE:

        Apply molybdenum grease to the center bolt of SST before use.

      2. Using SST, remove the rear suspension member rear body mount cushion LH from the rear suspension member sub-assembly while applying anti-rust lubricant in the gap between the rear suspension member rear body mount cushion and rear suspension member sub-assembly.
        • SST: 09950-00020 
        • SST: 09950-00030 
        • SST: 09950-60011 
          1. 09951-00330
        NOTE:
        • The rear suspension member rear body mount cushion may jump out quickly.
        • Do not reuse the removed rear suspension member rear body mount cushion.
  68. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER REAR BODY MOUNT CUSHION RH 
    1. Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.
  69. REMOVE REAR MOTOR MOUNTING INSULATOR

      *1 Rear suspension member sub-assembly - -
      *a Turn *b Hold
      Front Turning Direction
      1. Using SST, remove the rear motor mounting insulator from the rear suspension member sub-assembly.
        • SST: 09570-48010 
        NOTE:
        • When removing the rear motor mounting insulator, do not allow SST (09570-48010) to contact the rear suspension member sub-assembly.
        • Apply oils and fats to the threads of SST bolts before use.
        • Make sure you have the correct combination of SST.
        • Make sure that the SST is in contact with the entire circumference of the seating surface of the rear motor mounting insulator.
        • Install the SST so that the SST bolt do not tilt.
