Removal [05/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    WARNING:

    Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [05/2023 - ]

    NOTE:

    After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

    Refer to BEFORE DISCONNECTING BATTERY [05/2023 - ]

  2. REMOVE NO. 2 DECK BOARD 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

    WARNING:
    • Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    • If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.
  4. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  5. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [05/2023 - ]

  6. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER REINFORCEMENT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  7. DRAIN COOLANT (for Inverter) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  8. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  9. REMOVE HOOD LOCK RELEASE LEVER PROTECTOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  10. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE COVER RH 
    1. Detach the clamp and remove the hood lock control cable cover RH.

  11. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE COVER LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  12. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  13. REMOVE LOW PITCHED HORN ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  14. REMOVE LOWER ARM BRACKET BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and lower arm bracket brace sub-assembly RH.

      Remove in this Direction
  15. REMOVE LOWER ARM BRACKET BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and lower arm bracket brace sub-assembly LH.

  16. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT TO CROSSMEMBER BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and radiator support to crossmember brace sub-assembly RH.

  17. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT TO CROSSMEMBER BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and radiator support to crossmember brace sub-assembly LH.

  18. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT 
    1. Detach the clamp and disconnect the engine room main wire.

    2. Remove the 5 bolts.

      Bolt
      Radiator Support Cushion
      Remove in this Direction
    3. While lifting the upper radiator support upwards, detach the 2 radiator support cushions and remove the upper radiator support.
      NOTE:

      When disconnecting the upper radiator support, do not damage the cooler condenser assembly, radiator assembly (for Inverter coolant) and radiator assembly.

  19. DISCONNECT NO. 2 INVERTER COOLING HOSE 
    1. Using pliers, grip the claws of the hose clip and slide the hose clip to disconnect the No. 2 inverter cooling hose.
      NOTE:
      • Do not apply excessive force to the radiator assembly (for inverter coolant) or No. 2 inverter cooling hose.
      • Prepare a drain pan or cloth in case the coolant leaks.

  20. DISCONNECT NO. 3 INVERTER COOLING HOSE 
    1. Using pliers, grip the claws of the hose clip and slide the hose clip to disconnect the No. 3 inverter cooling hose.
      NOTE:
      • Do not apply excessive force to the radiator assembly (for inverter coolant) or No. 3 inverter cooling hose.
      • Prepare a drain pan or cloth in case the coolant leaks.

  21. DISCONNECT LIQUID TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY A 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect liquid tube sub-assembly A and No. 1 cooler refrigerant hose bracket from the cooler condenser assembly.

      NOTE:

      Do not apply excessive force to the liquid tube sub-assembly A.

    2. Remove the O-ring from the liquid tube sub-assembly A.
      NOTE:

      Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent entry of moisture and foreign matter.

  22. DISCONNECT DISCHARGE HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the discharge hose sub-assembly from the cooler condenser assembly.

      NOTE:

      Do not apply excessive force to the discharge hose sub-assembly.

    2. Remove the O-ring from the discharge hose sub-assembly.
      NOTE:

      Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent entry of moisture and foreign matter.

  23. REMOVE COOLER CONDENSER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Detach the claw.

    2. While lifting the cooler condenser assembly in the direction of the arrow shown in the illustration, detach the guide and remove the cooler condenser assembly and radiator assembly (for inverter coolant).

      Remove in this Direction
      NOTE:
      • When removing the cooler condenser assembly and radiator assembly (for Inverter Coolant), do not damage the cooler condenser assembly, radiator assembly (for Inverter Coolant) and radiator assembly.
      • Prepare a drain pan or cloth in case the coolant leaks.
    3. Remove the 2 bolts and the radiator assembly (for inverter coolant) from the cooler condenser assembly.
