Disassembly [05/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION

    NOTE:

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

  2. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (for Driver Side) 
    1. Grasp the end of the front door trim cover sub-assembly LH and front door trim board sub-assembly LH and while pulling back, detach the clip.

    2. Detach the remaining clip and remove the front door trim cover sub-assembly LH.

  3. REMOVE COURTESY LIGHT ASSEMBLY (for Driver Side) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (for Driver Side) 
    1. Remove the 2 screws.

    2. Grasp the end of the front door trim board sub-assembly LH and front door inside panel sub-assembly LH and while pulling back, detach the clip.

    3. Place your hands at the position shown in the illustration and pull to detach the clip.

    4. Place your hands at the position shown in the illustration and pull to detach the remaining clip, then lift up the front door trim board sub-assembly LH in the direction of the arrow and detach the guide.

    5. Disconnect the connector.

    6. Disconnect the front door open lever lock remote control cable from the front door inside handle sub-assembly LH and remove the front door trim board sub-assembly LH.

  5. REMOVE FRONT DOOR ASSIST GRIP ASSEMBLY RH (for Front Passenger Side) 
    1. Grasp the end of the front door assist grip assembly RH and front door trim board sub-assembly RH and while pulling back, detach the clip.

  7. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY RH (for Front Passenger Side) 
    1. Remove the 3 screws.

    2. Grasp the end of the front door trim board sub-assembly RH and front door inside panel sub-assembly RH and while pulling back, detach the clip.

    3. Place your hands at the position shown in the illustration and lift up the front door trim board sub-assembly RH in the direction of the arrow and detach the guide.

    4. Disconnect the connector.

    5. Disconnect the front door open lever lock remote control cable from the front door inside handle sub-assembly RH and remove the front door trim board sub-assembly RH.

  8. REMOVE NO. 1 SPEAKER WITH BOX ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  9. REMOVE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  10. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOWER FRAME BRACKET GARNISH LH 
    1. Place your hands on the front door lower frame bracket garnish LH and pull to detach the clip and remove the front door lower frame bracket garnish LH.

  11. REMOVE FRONT DOOR FRONT LOWER FRAME UPPER COVER LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

    1. Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips and front door division bar seal LH.
  13. REMOVE FRONT DOOR NO. 3 WEATHERSTRIP LH

    1. Using a clip remover, remove the 3 clips and front door No. 3 weatherstrip LH.
  14. REMOVE FRONT DOOR BELT MOULDING ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

    Remove in this Direction
    Double-sided Tape
    1. Using a clip remover, remove the 3 clips.
    2. Remove the double-sided tape.
    3. Detach the clip.
    4. Detach the hook and remove the front door weatherstrip LH as shown in the illustration.
    5. Clean the door panel.

    1. Detach the clip and remove the front door trim seal LH.
  17. REMOVE REAR ACCESS PANEL WEATHERSTRIP LH

    Double-sided Tape
    1. Using a clip remover, remove the clip.
    2. Detach the clip.
    3. Remove the adhesional surface of the double-sided tape and rear access panel weatherstrip LH.
    4. Clean the door panel.
  18. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    1. Close the front door glass sub-assembly RH fully close position.
      1. Connect the connector.

      2. Insert the upper portion of the front door trim board sub-assembly RH into the front door panel to temporarily set it.

        Temporarily Set in this Direction
      3. Turn the engine switch to ON.
      4. for Driver Side:
        1. Operate the multiplex network master switch assembly and set the front door glass sub-assembly RH to the fully close position.
      5. for Front Passenger side:
        1. Operate the power window regulator switch assembly and set the front door glass sub-assembly LH to the fully close position.
      6. Turn the engine switch off.
      7. Lift up the front door trim board sub-assembly RH in the direction of the arrow and detach the guide.

      8. Disconnect the connector.

    2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      Refer to REMOVAL [05/2023 - ]

      WARNING:

      • Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
      • If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.
  19. REMOVE MULTIPLEX NETWORK MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY (for Driver Side) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  20. REMOVE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY (for Front Passenger Side) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  21. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the 4 screws and front door inside handle sub-assembly LH.

  22. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INNER GLASS WEATHERSTRIP LH

    1. Pull up the claw as shown in the illustration and remove the front door inner glass weatherstrip LH from the front door trim board sub-assembly LH.
  23. REMOVE INDICATOR LIGHT ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  24. REMOVE INDICATOR LIGHT BRACKET 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  25. REMOVE INDICATOR LIGHT COVER

  26. REMOVE SEAT MEMORY SWITCH (for Driver Side)

  27. REMOVE NO. 2 FRONT DOOR WIRE LH

    1. Detach the clamp.
    2. Disconnect the connector and remove the No. 2 front door wire LH.
  28. REMOVE FRONT DOOR MULTIPLEX NETWORK ECU LH

    2. Remove the 2 screws and front door multiplex network ECU LH.
  29. REMOVE NO. 1 FRONT DOOR HOLE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

  30. REMOVE DOOR SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  31. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Insert a hand into the service hole and detach the snap lock and remove the door lock side rod as shown in the illustration.

      Remove the bolt from the vehicle body.

      Detach the claw and disconnect the front door wire LH.

    4. Remove the grommet and disconnect the connector.

    5. Remove the 4 bolts.

      "TORX" screw

    6. Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the "TORX" bolt and 10 "TORX" screws.
    7. Detach the center door guide piece in the direction indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration and remove the front door inside panel sub-assembly LH together with the front door glass sub-assembly LH.
      NOTE:
      • Although CFRP material has high strength, there is a possibility of cracking if an excessive load is applied. As a result, pay attention to how it is handled.
      • Perform this operation with 2 or more people because of the risk of deformation or damage.
      • Be careful not to damage the front door glass sub-assembly LH.

    1. Remove the 2 nuts and front door check assembly LH.

    3. Loosen the 2 nuts and remove the window regulator shims.

      HINT: 

      Record the number of window regulator shims removed.

    4. Lift up the glass in the direction shown in the illustration, loosen the bolt and remove the door glass female stabilizer LH and bolt.

    5. Remove the 2 bolts.

    6. Pull out the front door upper glass stop of the front door glass sub-assembly LH from the front door upper window stop, slide the front and rear of the front door glass sub-assembly LH in the direction indicated by the arrows shown in the illustration to remove the front door glass sub-assembly LH.

      Do not damage the front door glass sub-assembly LH.

  39. REMOVE FRONT DOOR UPPER WINDOW STOP 
    1. Remove the 2 front door upper window stops.
  40. REMOVE FRONT DOOR FRONT LOWER FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the 2 nuts and front door front lower frame sub-assembly LH.

  41. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS RUN LH 
    1. Remove the front door glass run LH from the front door front lower frame sub-assembly LH.

    1. Disconnect the connector and remove the 3 nuts.

    3. Measure the stud bolt (A) at the bottom of the front door window regulator sub-assembly LH and record its dimensions.
  43. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WIRE LH

  45. REMOVE FRONT DOOR PANEL CUSHION 
    1. Detach the claw and remove the front door panel cushion.

  46. INSTALL FRONT DOOR DUST PROOF SEAL 
    1. Detach the claw and guide to remove the front door dust proof seal.

  47. REMOVE OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Apply protective tape to the handle and door outer panel of the outside door handle sub-assembly LH to prevent damage.

      Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the "TORX" screw.

    2. Put the outside door handle in the full stroke position and remove the front door lock cylinder assembly LH.

    1. Detach the grommet and adhesional surface of the double-sided tape.

    2. Using a clip remover, detach the clip and remove the front door No. 2 weatherstrip LH.
    3. Clean the door panel.
  50. REMOVE STEP PANEL WIRE LH 
    1. Detach the clamp and remove the step panel wire LH.
