Removal [11/2021 - ]: Procedure

  1. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM 

    See step  1

  2. REMOVE FRONT FENDER PANEL CUSHION 
    1. for LH Side:

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

    2. for RH Side:
      1. Use the same procedure as for the LH side.
  3. REMOVE HOOD TO FRONT FENDER SEAL LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  4. REMOVE HOOD TO FRONT FENDER SEAL RH 
    1. Use the same procedure as for the LH side.
  5. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [11/2021 - ]

  6. REMOVE COWL VENTILATOR SPLASH SHIELD LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  7. REMOVE COWL VENTILATOR PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  8. DISCONNECT NO. 1 SUCTION TUBE

      1. Remove the bolt.
      2. Rotate the hook connector as shown in the illustration and disconnect the No. 1 suction tube.
      3. Remove the O-ring from the No. 1 suction tube.
        NOTE:

        Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent entry of moisture and foreign matter.

  9. DISCONNECT NO. 5 DISCHARGE TUBE

      1. Disconnect the No. 5 discharge tube.
      2. Remove the O-ring from the No. 5 discharge tube.
        NOTE:

        Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent entry of moisture and foreign matter.

  10. DISCONNECT OUTLET HEATER WATER HOSE

      1. Using pliers, grip the claws of the hose clip and slide the hose clip to disconnect the outlet heater water hose.
        NOTE:
        • Do not apply excessive force to the outlet heater water hose.
        • Prepare a drain pan or cloth in case the coolant leaks.
  11. DISCONNECT INLET HEATER WATER HOSE A

      1. Using pliers, grip the claws of the hose clip and slide the hose clip to disconnect the inlet heater water hose A.
        NOTE:
        • Do not apply excessive force to the inlet heater water hose A.
        • Prepare a drain pan or cloth in case the coolant leaks.
  12. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [11/2021 - 03/2023] , or refer to REMOVAL [03/2023 - ]

  13. REMOVE NO. 3 AIR DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    See step  2

  14. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [11/2021 - ]

  15. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to REMOVAL [11/2021 - ]

  16. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Use the same procedure as for the LH side.
  17. REMOVE INTEGRATION CONTROL SUPPLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [11/2021 - ]

  36. DISCONNECT INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE 

    HINT: 

    The illustration shown is an example only. The illustration may differ from the actual parts according to the model.

      1. Remove the 4 bolts and disconnect the 4 earth wires.
      2. Disconnect the connector.
      3. Disengage each clamp.

      *a Lock Lever - -
      Release (1) Move in this Direction (2)
      1. Push down the part (A) in the direction indicated by the arrow (1) to release the lock, and then move the lock lever in the direction indicated by the arrow (2) shown in the illustration to disconnect the connector.
      2. Disengage the 4 clamps.

      1. Disconnect each connector and instrument panel wire.

  39. DISCONNECT DRAIN COOLER HOSE

      1. Disengage the clip.
      2. Disconnect the drain cooler hose from the cooler unit drain hose grommet.
        NOTE:

        If the cooler unit drain hose grommet was removed from the vehicle body, replace it with a new one.

  40. REMOVE COOLER UNIT DRAIN HOSE GROMMET 

    HINT: 

    Perform this procedure only when replacement of the cooler unit drain hose grommet is necessary.

      1. Turn back the No. 1 floor mat as shown in the illustration.
      2. Remove the cooler unit drain hose grommet.
        NOTE:

        After removing the cooler unit drain hose grommet, replace it with a new one to prevent water from entering.

  42. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL REINFORCEMENT ASSEMBLY WITH AIR CONDITIONER UNIT ASSEMBLY 
    NOTE:
    • Be sure to support the air conditioner unit assembly when removing it. Failure to do so may cause the bracket of the air conditioner unit assembly to break.
    • When disassembling the air conditioner unit assembly, eliminate static electricity by touching the vehicle body to prevent the components from being damaged.
