Removal [03/2017 - 05/2023]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [03/2017 - 05/2023]

  2. REMOVE NO. 2 DECK BOARD 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11 [03/2017 - 01/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12 [01/2021 - 05/2023]

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [03/2017 - 04/2020] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [04/2020 - 05/2023]

  4. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 

    Refer to REMOVAL [03/2017 - 05/2023]

  5. REMOVE NO. 3 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR 
    1. Remove the 3 bolts and No. 3 exhaust manifold heat insulator.

  6. REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the starter assembly connector.

      *1 Terminal Cover
      *a Connector
      *b Nut A
      *c Nut B
    2. Open the terminal cover.
    3. Remove the nut A to disconnect the starter wire.
    4. Remove the nut B and terminal cover.
    5. Remove the 2 bolts and starter assembly.

  7. REMOVE FLYWHEEL HOUSING SIDE COVER 
    1. Remove the flywheel housing side cover as shown in the illustration.
