DTC P0300: Random / Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected; DTC P0301: Cylinder 1 Misfire Detected; DTC P0302: Cylinder 2 Misfire Detected; DTC P0303: Cylinder 3 Misfire Detected; DTC P0304: Cylinder 4 Misfire Detected; DTC P0305: Cylinder 5 Misfire Detected; DTC P0306: Cylinder 6 Misfire Detected; DTC P0307: Cylinder 7 Misfire Detected; DTC P0308: Cylinder 8 Misfire Detected [10/2015 - 11/2017]: Procedure

  1. CHECK ANY OTHER DTCS OUTPUT (IN ADDITION TO MISFIRE DTCS) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Trouble Codes.
    5. Read the DTCs.

      Powertrain > Engine > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304, P0305, P0306, P0307 and/or P0308 are output A
      DTC P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304, P0305, P0306, P0307 and/or P0308 and other DTCs are output B

      HINT: 

      If any DTCs other than P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304, P0305, P0306, P0307 and/or P0308 are output, troubleshoot those DTCs first.

    Result:

  2. CHECK PCV HOSE CONNECTIONS 
    1. Check the PCV hose connections.

  3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (MISFIRE RPM AND MISFIRE LOAD) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Data List / Gas Misfire / Misfire RPM and Misfire Load.

      Powertrain > Engine > Data List

    5. Read and note the Misfire RPM and Misfire Load values.

      HINT: 

      The Misfire RPM and Misfire Load values indicate the vehicle conditions under which the misfire occurred.

  4. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (CATALYST OT MF F/C) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

  5. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (PROHIBIT THE CATALYST OT MISFIRE PREVENT F/C) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Active Test / Prohibit the Catalyst OT Misfire prevent F/C.

      Powertrain > Engine > Active Test

    5. Perform the Active Test.
      NOTE:

      When performing the Active Test, make sure the vehicle is stopped and the engine is either idling or being revved within 3000 rpm.

  6. CHECK MISFIRE COUNT OF PORT INJECTION 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Start the engine and warm it up.

      1. Drive the vehicle with the Misfire RPM and Misfire Load noted in the "Read Value Using Techstream (Misfire RPM and Misfire Load)" procedures above [A].
      2. Read the Injection Way and Cylinder #1 Misfire Count to Cylinder #8 Misfire Count or DTCs displayed on the Techstream [B].

    2. Start the engine and turn the Techstream on.
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Data List / Gas General / Fuel Press.

    4. Read the values.

      HINT:

  12. INSPECT INJECTOR DRIVER (NO. 1 AND NO. 2) 
    1. Turn the engine switch off.
    2. Replace the No. 1 and No. 2 injector drivers with normal ones from another vehicle.
      NOTE:

      Do not disconnect and reconnect the connectors with the engine switch on (IG), as the injector driver (EDU) may be damaged.

    3. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    4. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    5. Turn the Techstream on.
    6. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [09/2014 - ]

      Powertrain > Engine > Clear DTCs 

    7. Turn the engine switch off and wait for at least 30 seconds.
    8. Start the engine and warm it up.
    9. Turn the Techstream on.
    10. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Trouble Codes / Pending.
    11. Read the pending DTCs.

      Powertrain > Engine > Trouble Codes 

      Result

  14. CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

      Powertrain > Engine > Clear DTCs 

    5. Turn the engine switch off and wait for at least 30 seconds.
    6. Start the engine and warm it up.

    8. Drive the vehicle in accordance with the driving pattern described in Confirmation Driving Pattern.
    9. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Utility / All Readiness.
