Removal [10/2020 - 11/2021]: Procedure

  1. BOLT, SCREW AND NUT TABLE 

    HINT: 

    All bolts, nuts and clips relevant to installing and removing the instrument panel are shown along with their alphabetic code in the table below.

    Be sure to read precaution thoroughly before servicing.

    NOTE:

    After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

    Refer to BEFORE DISCONNECTING BATTERY [10/2020 - 11/2021]

  3. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 25

  4. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

    WARNING:

      Wait at least 60 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    • If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.
  5. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [10/2020 - 10/2022]

  6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13

  7. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH 
    1. Insert moulding remover B as shown in the illustration and push in the direction indicated by the arrow to slightly pull the bottom part of the instrument side panel LH away from the vehicle.

    2. Place your hand at the position shown in the illustration, detach the clip in the removal order and remove the instrument side panel LH.

  8. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 screws <B>.

  9. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH 
    1. Remove the cap nut.

    2. Pull in the direction of the arrow in the illustration and detach the clamp and remove the cowl side trim board LH.
  10. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13

  11. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH 
    1. Insert moulding remover B as shown in the illustration and push in the direction indicated by the arrow to slightly pull the bottom part of the instrument side panel RH away from the vehicle.

    2. Place your hand at the position shown in the illustration, detach the clip in the removal order and remove the instrument side panel RH.

    1. Place your hand at the position shown in the illustration and detach the claw and clip.

    3. Detach the clamp and disconnect the 2 connectors.

  17. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD 
    1. Place your hand at the position shown in the illustration and pull in the direction indicated by the arrow to detach the clip and remove the No. 1 instrument panel safety pad together with the No. 1 instrument cluster moulding.

  18. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER MOULDING 
    1. Detach the clip and remove the No. 1 instrument panel safety pad from the No. 1 instrument cluster moulding.

  19. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the screw.

    1. Using a screwdriver, release the lock button and disconnect the airbag connector.
      NOTE:

      When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

      HINT: 

      • Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
      • Use the same procedure for the opposite side.

    8. Remove the 2 clips <D>, 6 bolts <E> and nut <F>.
