Removal [12/2017 - 09/2018]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to read precaution thoroughly before servicing.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [12/2017 - 10/2020]

    NOTE:

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  2. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 24

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

    WARNING:
    • Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
    • If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.

    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [12/2017 - 09/2018]

  4. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE REAR SEAT CUSHION COVER WITH PAD 

    Refer to REMOVAL [12/2017 - 09/2018]

  5. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION AIRBAG ASSEMBLY LH 
    WARNING:
    • When storing the rear seat airbag assembly LH, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.
    • If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.

    Deployment Side
    1. Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips.

      HINT: 

      Tape the clip remover tip before use.

    2. Detach the wire harness clamp.

    3. Detach the claw and disconnect the airbag connector.
    4. Remove the 2 nuts and rear seat cushion airbag assembly LH.
      WARNING:
      • Do not reuse the nut.
      • If the installation surface or surrounding area of the rear seat cushion airbag assembly LH is deformed or damaged, replace the rear seat cushion panel LH with a new one.
