Removal [12/2017 - 09/2018]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to read precaution thoroughly before servicing.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [12/2017 - 10/2020]

    NOTE:

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  2. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 24

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

      WARNING:
      • Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
      • If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.

      NOTE:

      When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  4. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIR BAG ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [12/2017 - 09/2018]

  5. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11

  6. REMOVE NO. 1 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12

  7. REMOVE NO. 1 CLEARANCE WARNING BUZZER

      Using a clip remover, detach the clamp and remove the No. 1 clearance warning buzzer.

    2. Disconnect the connector.
