Removal [05/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. DISCONNECT BRAKE BOOSTER PUMP CONNECTOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  2. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL 

    Refer to REMOVAL [05/2023 - ] 

  3. REMOVE FRONT PAD WEAR INDICATOR WIRE ASSEMBLY RH (for RH Side) 
    WARNING:

    Be careful not to get pinched by the disc brake cylinder assembly or other parts when removing the front disc brake pads

    NOTE:

    Be sure to inspect the front disc when replacing the front disc brake pads with new ones.

    Refer to INSPECTION [05/2023 - ]

    1. Disconnect the front pad wear indicator wire connector from the front skid control sensor wire.

    2. Detach the clamp (A) and remove the bleeder plug cap (B).

    3. Detach the front pad wear indicator wire assemblies RH from the 2 locations indicated in the illustration (C) in the disc brake cylinder assembly RH.
    4. While pulling the pad wear indicator wire clip guide toward the inside of the vehicle, remove the pad wear indicator wire assembly from the rear disc brake pad.

      Remove in this Direction (1)
      Remove in this Direction (2)
      NOTE:

      The pad wear indicator wire retainer may become deformed if excessive force is used to pull on it. Therefore, do not excessively pull on the guide.

  4. DISCONNECT DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the flexible hose from the front flexible hose bracket LH.

    2. Loosen the bolts on the lower side of the disc brake cylinder assembly LH and remove the bolts on the top side.
      NOTE:

      Do not excessively loosen the bolts on the lower side of the disc brake cylinder assembly LH.

    3. Tilt the disc brake cylinder assembly LH and install SST as shown in the illustration.

      • SST: 09727-00110

      Install SST to the No. 2 front suspension upper arm assembly LH.

      NOTE:

      The No. 2 front suspension upper arm assembly LH may become damaged if the metal part of SST contacts it. Therefore, install it so that the metal part does not contact the No. 2 front suspension upper arm assembly LH.

    5. Remove the bolt on the lower side of the disc brake cylinder assembly LH and disconnect it.
      NOTE:
      • Do not apply excessive force to the flexible hose.
      • If there is no looseness on the flexible hose, adjust the length of SST.
    6. Remove the front disc LH.

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  5. REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE PAD

    1. Remove the 2 front disc brake pads from the disc brake cylinder assembly LH.
  6. REMOVE PAD WEAR INDICATOR WIRE CLIP (for RH Side) 
    1. Remove the pad wear indicator wire clip from the front disc brake pad.

  7. REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE ANTI-SQUEAL SHIM KIT 
    1. Remove the No. 1 anti-squeal shim from the front disc brake pad.
