Replacement [10/2018 - 07/2022]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [10/2018 - 08/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [08/2021 - 07/2022]

  2. REMOVE REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [10/2018 - 08/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [08/2021 - 07/2022]

  3. REMOVE REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9 [10/2018 - 08/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9 [08/2021 - 07/2022]

  4. DRAIN CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSAXLE FLUID 
    1. Remove the refill plug and gasket from the rear transaxle case sub-assembly.

    2. Using a 10 mm hexagon socket wrench, remove the overflow plug and gasket from the transaxle case sub-assembly.

    3. Using a 6 mm hexagon socket wrench, remove the No. 1 transmission oil filler tube from the transaxle case sub-assembly.

      *1 No. 1 Transmission Oil Filler Tube

      HINT: 

      Removing the No. 1 transmission oil filler tube will drain all oil in the continuously variable transaxle assembly.

    4. Using a 6 mm hexagon socket wrench, install the No. 1 transmission oil filler tube to the transaxle case sub-assembly.

      Torque: 0.8 N.m (8 kgf/cm, 7 in.lbf) 

    5. Using a 10 mm hexagon socket wrench, temporarily install the overflow plug and gasket to the transaxle case sub-assembly.

      HINT: 

      Reuse the old gasket as the overflow plug will be removed again to adjust the fluid level.

    6. Temporarily install the gasket and refill plug to the continuously variable transaxle assembly.

      HINT: 

      Reuse the old gasket as the refill plug will be removed again to adjust the fluid level.

  5. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [10/2018 - 07/2022]

  6. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT OIL SEAL LH 
    1. Using SST, remove the front drive shaft oil seal LH from the continuously variable transaxle assembly.

      • SST: 09308-00010 
      NOTE:

      Do not damage the continuously variable transaxle assembly.

  7. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT OIL SEAL RH 
    1. Using SST, remove the front drive shaft oil seal RH from the continuously variable transaxle assembly.

      • SST: 09308-00010 
      NOTE:

      Do not damage the continuously variable transaxle assembly.

  8. INSTALL FRONT DRIVE SHAFT OIL SEAL LH 
    1. Using SST and a hammer, install a new front drive shaft oil seal LH to the continuously variable transaxle assembly.

      • SST: 09649-17010 
      • SST: 09950-70010 
        1. 09951-07150

      Standard Depth

      -0.5 to 0.5 mm (-0.0197 to 0.0197 in.)

      NOTE:
      • Be sure to install the front drive shaft oil seal LH in the correct direction.
      • Make sure to install the front drive shaft oil seal LH as specified, otherwise malfunctions such as a fluid leak will occur.
      • Do not damage the lip of the front drive shaft oil seal LH.
  9. INSTALL FRONT DRIVE SHAFT OIL SEAL RH 
    1. Using SST and a hammer, install a new front drive shaft oil seal RH to the continuously variable transaxle assembly.

      • SST: 09316-10010 
      • SST: 09950-70010 
        1. 09951-07150

      Standard Depth

      -0.5 to 0.5 mm (-0.0197 to 0.0197 in.)

      NOTE:
      • Be sure to install the front drive shaft oil seal RH in the correct direction.
      • Make sure to install the front drive shaft oil seal RH as specified, otherwise malfunctions such as a fluid leak will occur.
      • Do not damage the lip of the front drive shaft oil seal RH.
  10. INSTALL FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [10/2018 - 07/2022]

  11. ADD CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSAXLE FLUID 

    Refer to ADJUSTMENT [10/2018 - 10/2019] , or refer to ADJUSTMENT [10/2019 - 07/2022]

  12. INSPECT FOR FLUID LEAK 
  13. INSTALL REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 58 [10/2018 - 08/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 58 [08/2021 - 07/2022]

  14. INSTALL REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 59 [10/2018 - 08/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 59 [08/2021 - 07/2022]

  15. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 60 [10/2018 - 08/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 60 [08/2021 - 07/2022]
