Removal [10/2018 - ]: Procedure

  1. SECURE VEHICLE 
    1. Fully apply the parking brake and chock a wheel.
      WARNING:
      • Make sure to apply the parking brake and chock a wheel before performing this procedure.
      • If the vehicle is not secure and the shift lever is moved to N, the vehicle may suddenly move, possibly resulting in an accident or serious injury.

  2. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [10/2018 - 07/2022] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [07/2022 - ]

  3. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (TWC: Rear Catalyst) 

    Refer to REMOVAL [10/2018 - ]

  4. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR 
    WARNING:

    To prevent burns, do not touch the engine, exhaust manifold or other high temperature components while the engine is hot.

    1. Remove 3 nuts and front No. 1 floor heat insulator from the vehicle body.

  5. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [10/2018 - 07/2022] , or refer to REMOVAL [07/2022 - ]

  6. REMOVE NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX DUCT 
    1. Disengage the clamp to separate the wire harness.

    2. Remove the 3 clips and No. 2 console box duct from the vehicle body.
  7. REMOVE NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX DUCT 
    1. Remove the clip and No. 1 console box duct from the vehicle body.

  8. REMOVE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Move the shift lever to N.
    2. Disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the transmission floor shift assembly.

    3. Rotate the lock nut counterclockwise approximately 180° and, while holding the lock nut in that position, disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the transmission floor shift assembly.

    4. Remove the nut to disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the control shaft lever.

    5. Remove the clip to disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the No. 1 transmission control cable bracket.
    6. Disengage the clamp to separate the transmission control cable assembly.

    7. Remove the bolt to disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the hybrid inverter protector assembly.
    8. Remove the nut.

    9. Disengage the guide to disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the vehicle body.
    10. Remove the 2 nuts and transmission control cable assembly from the vehicle body.
