Indicator Circuit [10/2018 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK SHIFT POSITION INDICATOR 
    1. Turn the power switch on (ACC).
    2. Check that each shift position indicator light turns on correctly.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      All shift position indicator lights turn on simultaneously A
      Shift position indicator lights other than corresponding one turn on B
      Corresponding shift position indicator light does not turn on C
      No shift position indicator lights turn on D
    3. Turn the power switch off.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CHECK FOR SHORT TO GND) 
    1. Disconnect the F59 hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F59-19 (INDP) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F59-7 (INDR)- Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F59-21 (INDN) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F59-8 (INDD) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F59-20 (INDM) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

      (to hybrid vehicle control ECU)
    3. Reconnect the F59 hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2018 - 07/2022]  Refer to  REMOVAL [07/2022 - ]

    NG

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU - SHIFT POSITION INDICATOR) 
    1. Disconnect the F59 hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the F75 shift position indicator connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F59-19 (INDP) or F75-4 (P) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F59-7 (INDR) or F75-3 (R) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F59-21 (INDN) or F75-2 (N) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F59-8 (INDD) or F75-1 (D) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F59-20 (INDM) or F75-8 (S) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

    4. Reconnect the F75 shift position indicator connector.
    5. Reconnect the F59 hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    REPLACE SHIFT POSITION INDICATOR. Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 1 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect the F75 shift position indicator connector.
    2. Turn the power switch on (ACC).
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      F75-10 (PWR) - Body ground Power switch on (ACC) 11 to 14 V

    4. Turn the power switch off.
    5. Reconnect the F75 shift position indicator connector.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT 

    Result: 

    OK

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE TERMINAL ACCI) 
    1. Turn the power switch on (ACC).
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      F60-29 (ACCI) - Body ground Power switch on (ACC) 11 to 14 V

    3. Turn the power switch off.

    REPAIR OR REPLACE POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CHECK FOR OPEN) 
    1. Disconnect the F59 hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.
    2. Turn the power switch on (ACC).
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      F59-19 (INDP) - Body ground and other terminals Power switch on (ACC) 11 to 14 V
      F59-7 (INDR) - Body ground and other terminals Power switch on (ACC) 11 to 14 V
      F59-21 (INDN) - Body ground and other terminals Power switch on (ACC) 11 to 14 V
      F59-8 (INDD) - Body ground and other terminals Power switch on (ACC) 11 to 14 V

    4. Turn the power switch off.
    5. Reconnect the F59 hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.

    REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2018 - 07/2022]  Refer to  REMOVAL [07/2022 - ]

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU - SHIFT POSITION INDICATOR) 
    1. Disconnect the F59 hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the F75 shift position indicator connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F59-19 (INDP) - F75-4 (P) Always Below 1 Ω
      F59-7 (INDR) - F75-3 (R) Always Below 1 Ω
      F59-21 (INDN) - F75-2 (N) Always Below 1 Ω
      F59-8 (INDD) - F75-1 (D) Always Below 1 Ω
      F59-20 (INDM) - F75-8 (S) Always Below 1 Ω

    4. Reconnect the F75 shift position indicator connector.
    5. Reconnect the F59 hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.
