Installation [10/2018 - ]: Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2024 Lexus UX 250h, 2023 Lexus UX 250h, 2022 Lexus UX 250h, 2021 Lexus UX 250h, and 2020 Lexus UX 250h. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. INSTALL NO. 1 HV BATTERY COVER INTAKE DUCT

  2. INSTALL NO. 1 HYBRID BATTERY SHIELD SUB-ASSEMBLY

  3. INSTALL HV BATTERY JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY 

    See step  1

  4. INSTALL NO. 1 HYBRID BATTERY PACKING 
    1. Engage the 2 claws to install the No. 1 hybrid battery packing to the HV battery.
      NOTE:

      Align each tape on the hybrid battery thermistor with the edge of the No. 1 hybrid battery packing as shown in the illustration and then engage the 2 claws to install the No. 1 hybrid battery packing to the HV battery.

  5. INSTALL HYBRID BATTERY TERMINAL BLOCK 

    See step  1

  6. INSTALL BATTERY VOLTAGE SENSOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  7. INSTALL NO. 1 HV BATTERY SHIELD PANEL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  8. INSTALL UPPER HV BATTERY COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves and protective goggles.

    1. Install the upper HV battery cover sub-assembly to the HV battery with the 7 bolts and 6 nuts.

      Torque: 7.5 N*m (76 kgf*cm, 66 in.*lbf)

  9. INSTALL HV BATTERY 
    WARNING:

    Wear insulated gloves.

    1. Install the HV battery to the vehicle with the 4 bolts (A) and bolt (B).

      *a Bolt (A)
      (Bolt Length: 25 mm (0.984 in.))
      *b Bolt (B)
      (Bolt Length: 24 mm (0.945 in.))

      Torque: 19 N*m (194 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE:
      • Do not allow foreign matter, such as grease or oil, to adhere to the bolts of the HV battery.
      • To prevent the wire harness from being caught, make sure to bundle the wire harness using insulating tape or equivalent.
      • Use cardboard or another similar material to protect the HV battery and vehicle body from damage.
      • Since the HV battery is very heavy, 2 people are needed to install it. When installing the HV battery, be careful not to damage the parts around it.
      • When removing/installing/moving the HV battery, make sure not to tilt it more than 80°.
      • While lowering the HV battery into the vehicle, do not allow it to contact the vehicle.
      • As bolts with 2 different lengths are used, make sure to install each bolt to the correct position.
      • If the HV battery has been struck or dropped, replace it.
    2. Install the HV battery to the vehicle with the 3 bolts (A) and bolt (B).

      (Bolt Length: 24 mm (0.945 in.))

      *a Bolt (A)
      (Bolt Length: 25 mm (0.984 in.))
      *b Bolt (B)
      (Bolt Length: 24 mm (0.945 in.))

      Torque: 19 N*m (194 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE:
      • Do not allow foreign matter, such as grease or oil, to adhere to the bolts of the HV battery.

    3. Install the bolt (A) and 2 bolts and rear floor side rail sub-assembly LH.

      (Bolt Length: 24 mm (0.945 in.))

      *a Bolt (A)
      (Bolt Length: 40 mm (1.5748 in.))

      Torque: 19 N*m (194 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE:
      • Do not allow foreign matter, such as grease or oil, to adhere to the bolts of the HV battery.
      • To prevent the wire harness from being caught, make sure to bundle the wire harness using insulating tape or equivalent.
      • As bolts with 2 different lengths are used, make sure to install each bolt to the correct position.
      • If the HV battery has been struck or dropped, replace it.
  10. CONNECT FLOOR WIRE 
    WARNING:

    Wear insulated gloves.

    1. Connect the battery voltage sensor connector.
    2. Engage the clamp.
  11. INSTALL NO. 1 HV BATTERY PROTECTOR 
    1. Install the No. 1 HV battery protector with the clip.
  12. CONNECT FLOOR WIRE 
    WARNING:

    Wear insulated gloves.

    1. Connect the HV battery junction block assembly connector.
    2. Connect the electric vehicle battery plug assembly connector.
    3. Engage the clamp.
  13. CONNECT FLOOR UNDER WIRE 
    WARNING:

    Wear insulated gloves.

    1. Connect the shield ground to the HV battery.
    2. Connect the 2 HV battery junction block assembly connectors.
      NOTE:

      Make sure that the connectors are connected securely.

  14. INSTALL NO. 1 HV BATTERY COVER PANEL RH 
    WARNING:

    Wear insulated gloves.

    1. Install the No. 1 HV battery cover panel RH to the HV battery with the 3 bolts and 2 nuts.

      Torque: 7.5 N*m (76 kgf*cm, 66 in.*lbf)

      *1 Battery Cover Lock Striker
      *a Button
      *b Push
    2. Install the battery cover lock striker, then push the button to lock it.
  15. INSTALL BATTERY COOLING BLOWER ASSEMBLY 

    See step  1

  16. INSTALL REAR SEAT CUSHION LEG SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the rear seat cushion leg sub-assembly with the 6 bolts.

      Torque: 16 N*m (163 kgf*cm, 12 ft.*lbf) 

  17. INSTALL REAR UNDER COVER 
    1. Engage the 2 guides to install the rear under cover to the rear seat cushion leg sub-assembly.
    2. Engage the 2 clips.
  18. INSTALL REAR UNDER SIDE COVER LH

  19. INSTALL REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 42 [10/2018 - 10/2020] Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 42 [10/2020 - 07/2022] Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 42 [07/2022 - ]

  20. INSTALL REAR UNDER SIDE COVER RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  21. INSTALL REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  22. INSTALL REAR SEAT CUSHION LOCK HOOK

  23. INSTALL BENCH TYPE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [10/2018 - 07/2022] Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [07/2022 - ]

  24. INSTALL SERVICE PLUG GRIP 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [10/2018 - ] 

  25. PERFORM BATTERY STATUS INFO UPDATE
