Installation [10/2018 - 10/2019]: Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2024 Lexus UX 250h, 2023 Lexus UX 250h, 2022 Lexus UX 250h, 2021 Lexus UX 250h, and 2020 Lexus UX 250h. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. INSTALL RADIATOR DRAIN COCK PLUG 
    1. Install the 2 O-rings to the 2 radiator drain cock plugs.
      NOTE:

      Replace the O-ring if it is damaged.

    2. Install the 2 radiator drain cock plugs.
  2. INSTALL LOWER RADIATOR SUPPORT 
    1. Install the 2 lower radiator supports to the radiator assembly.
  3. INSTALL RADIATOR SUPPORT CUSHION 
    1. Install the 2 radiator support cushions to the radiator assembly.
  4. INSTALL RADIATOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Engage the 2 guides.
    2. Engage the 2 claws to install the fan shroud assembly to the radiator assembly.
      NOTE:

      Do not damage the radiator assembly when installing the fan shroud assembly.

    3. Install the radiator assembly together with the fan shroud assembly to the vehicle.

      Install in this Direction
  5. INSTALL COOLER CONDENSER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  6. CONNECT COOLER REFRIGERANT LIQUID PIPE A 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  7. CONNECT DISCHARGE HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  8. INSTALL NO. 1 HYBRID WATER PUMP OUTLET HOSE 
    1. Engage the clamp to install the No. 1 hybrid water pump outlet hose to the fan shroud.
  9. INSTALL HYBRID WATER PUMP INLET HOSE 
    1. Engage the 3 clamps to install the hybrid water pump inlet hose to the fan shroud.
  10. INSTALL NO. 1 INVERTER COOLING HOSE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Engage the 2 clamps to install the No. 1 inverter cooling hose assembly to the fan shroud.
    2. Engage the claw.
  11. CONNECT NO. 1 INVERTER COOLING INLET HOSE 
    1. Connect the No. 1 inverter cooling inlet hose to the radiator assembly and slide the clip to secure it.
  12. CONNECT HYBRID RADIATOR INLET HOSE 
    1. Connect the hybrid radiator inlet hose to the radiator assembly and slide the clip to secure it.
    2. Engage the clamp.
  13. CONNECT NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE 
    1. Connect the No. 2 radiator hose to the radiator assembly and slide the clip to secure it.
    2. Engage the clamp.
  14. CONNECT NO. 1 RADIATOR HOSE 
    1. Connect the No. 1 radiator hose to the radiator assembly and slide the clip to secure it.
    2. Engage the clamp.
  15. CONNECT NO. 3 WATER BY-PASS HOSE 
    1. Connect the No. 3 water by-pass hose to the radiator assembly and slide the clip to secure it.
    2. Engage the 3 clamps to the fan shroud.
  16. CONNECT NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS HOSE 
    1. Connect the No. 1 water by-pass hose to the radiator assembly and slide the clip to secure it.
  17. INSTALL NO. 1 RADIATOR AIR GUIDE LH 
    1. Engage the claw and guide to install the No. 1 radiator air guide LH to the radiator assembly.
  18. INSTALL NO. 1 RADIATOR AIR GUIDE RH 
    1. Engage the claw and guide to install the No. 1 radiator air guide RH to the radiator assembly.
  19. INSTALL NO. 2 RADIATOR AIR GUIDE 
    1. Engage the 3 guides and 2 claws to install the No. 2 radiator air guide to the radiator assembly.
  20. INSTALL UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the upper radiator support sub-assembly together with hood lock support sub-assembly to the vehicle with the 5 bolts.

      Torque: 12.5 N.m (127 kgf/cm, 9 ft.lbf) 

    2. Engage the 3 clamps to connect the wire harness to the fan shroud.
    3. Connect the wire harness connector to the cooling fan motor and lock with the lever.

    4. Connect the wire harness connector to the cooling fan wire.
    5. Engage the 6 clamps to connect the wire harness to the fan shroud and upper radiator support sub-assembly.
    6. w/ Vehicle Proximity Notification System:
      1. Engage the 2 clamps to connect the wire harness to the hood lock support assembly.
      2. Connect the connector.
    7. w/o Vehicle Proximity Notification System:
      1. Engage the 2 clamps to connect the wire harness to the hood lock support sub-assembly.
  21. INSTALL HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  22. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER UPPER RETAINER 
    1. Install the front bumper upper retainer to the vehicle with the 4 bolts.

      Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf) 

    2. Engage the clamp to connect the hood control cable assembly to the front bumper upper retainer.
  23. INSTALL NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET 
    1. Install the No. 1 air cleaner inlet to the upper radiator support sub-assembly and air cleaner case sub-assembly with the 4 bolts.

      Torque: 4.0 N.m (41 kgf/cm, 35 in.lbf) 

  24. INSTALL NO. 1 RADIATOR TO SUPPORT SEAL 
    1. Install the No. 1 radiator to support seal with the grommet and 2 clips.
  25. INSTALL NO. 2 FRONT BUMPER ENERGY ABSORBER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  26. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER ENERGY ABSORBER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  27. INSTALL LOW PITCHED HORN ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  28. INSTALL HIGH PITCHED HORN ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  29. INSTALL INVERTER WATER PUMP WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [10/2018 - ]

  30. INSTALL HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY LH 
  31. INSTALL HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  32. ADD ENGINE COOLANT (for Engine) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  33. CHARGE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM WITH REFRIGERANT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  34. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK (for Engine) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  35. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 67

  36. WARM UP ENGINE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  37. INSPECT FOR REFRIGERANT LEAK 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5
