Installation [10/2018 - 07/2022]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL COOLER CONDENSER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Engage the guides and claws to install the cooler condenser assembly as shown in the illustration.

      NOTE:

      Do not damage the cooler condenser assembly or radiator assembly when installing the cooler condenser assembly.

      HINT: 

      If a new cooler condenser assembly is installed, add compressor oil to the cooler condenser assembly as follows.

      Capacity

      Add 40 cc (1.35 fl. oz.)

      Refrigerant Compressor Oil
      for Gasoline Model ND-OIL 12 or equivalent
      for HV Model ND-OIL 11 or equivalent
  2. CONNECT COOLER REFRIGERANT LIQUID PIPE A 
    1. Remove the vinyl tape from the open ends of the cooler condenser assembly and cooler refrigerant liquid pipe A.
    2. Install a new piping clamp to the cooler refrigerant liquid pipe A.

      *1 Air Conditioner Tube and Accessory Assembly
      *2 Piping Clamp
      *a Groove
      NOTE:
      • Securely engage the inside step of the piping clamp in the cooler refrigerant liquid pipe A groove.
      • Do not widen the opening of the piping clamp more than the diameter of the cooler refrigerant liquid pipe A when installing it.
      • Do not install the piping clamp with the large diameter section in the wrong direction.
    3. Apply sufficient compressor oil to 2 new O-rings and the fitting surfaces of the cooler refrigerant liquid pipe A.
      Refrigerant Compressor Oil
      for Gasoline Model ND-OIL 12 or equivalent
      for HV Model ND-OIL 11 or equivalent
    4. Install the 2 O-rings to the cooler refrigerant liquid pipe A.
      NOTE:

      Keep the O-ring and O-ring fitting surface free from foreign matter.

    5. Connect the cooler condenser assembly and cooler refrigerant liquid pipe A.

      *a Large Diameter Section of Piping Clamp - -
      NOTE:

      Connect the parts by holding the pipe, not the piping clamp.

    6. Securely insert the piping clamp to the point where the large diameter section of the piping clamp is covered by the cooler condenser assembly.

      HINT: 

      • When inserting, make sure that a click sound is heard.
      • Check that the cooler refrigerant liquid pipe A is securely inserted by pulling it.
  3. CONNECT DISCHARGE HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the vinyl tape from the discharge hose sub-assembly and the connecting part of the cooler condenser assembly.
    2. Apply sufficient compressor oil to a new O-ring and the fitting surface of the discharge hose sub-assembly.
      Refrigerant Compressor Oil
      for Gasoline Model ND-OIL 12 or equivalent
      for HV Model ND-OIL 11 or equivalent
    3. Install the O-ring to the discharge hose sub-assembly.

      HINT: 

      Keep the O-ring and O-ring fitting surface free from foreign matter.

    4. Connect the discharge hose sub-assembly to the cooler condenser assembly with the bolt.

      Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf/cm, 48 in.lbf) 

  4. INSTALL NO. 1 RADIATOR AIR GUIDE RH 
    1. Engage the claw and guide to install the No. 1 radiator air guide RH to the radiator assembly.

  5. INSTALL NO. 1 RADIATOR AIR GUIDE LH 
    1. Engage the claw and guide to install the No. 1 radiator air guide LH to the radiator assembly.

  6. INSTALL NO. 2 RADIATOR AIR GUIDE 
    1. Engage the guides and claws to install the No. 2 radiator air guide to the radiator assembly.

  7. INSTALL UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the upper radiator support sub-assembly together with hood lock support sub-assembly to the vehicle with the 5 bolts.

      Torque: 12.5 N.m (127 kgf/cm, 9 ft.lbf) 

    2. Engage the clamps to connect the wire harness to the upper radiator support sub-assembly.

    3. Engage the clamps to connect the wire harness to the hood lock support assembly.

    4. for HV Model:
      1. Connect the connector A.
  8. INSTALL HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  9. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER UPPER RETAINER 
    1. Install the front bumper upper retainer to the vehicle with the 4 bolts.

      Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf) 

    2. Engage the clamp to connect the hood control cable assembly to the front bumper upper retainer.
  10. INSTALL NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET 
    1. Install the No. 1 air cleaner inlet to the upper radiator support sub-assembly and air cleaner case sub-assembly with the 4 bolts.

      Torque: 4.0 N.m (41 kgf/cm, 35 in.lbf) 

  11. INSTALL NO. 1 RADIATOR TO SUPPORT SEAL 
    1. Install the grommet, 2 clips and No. 1 radiator to support seal.
  12. INSTALL NO. 2 FRONT BUMPER ENERGY ABSORBER 
  13. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER ENERGY ABSORBER 
  14. INSTALL LOW PITCHED HORN ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  15. INSTALL HIGH PITCHED HORN ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  16. INSTALL HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY LH 
  17. INSTALL HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  18. CHARGE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM WITH REFRIGERANT 

    See step  2

  19. WARM UP ENGINE (for Gasoline Model) 

    See step  3

  20. WARM UP COMPRESSOR (for HV Model) 

    See step  4

  21. INSPECT FOR REFRIGERANT LEAK 

    See step  5

  22. ADJUST HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY
