Removal [12/2017 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:
    • Make sure to select foot mode before removing the rear cooling unit assembly.
    • Make sure to perform initialization after replacing the cooling unit damper servo sub-assembly. If initialization is not performed, the rear air conditioning unit will not perform properly as the air conditioning amplifier assembly will not be able to recognize the position of the cooling unit damper servo sub-assembly.
  2. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM 

    See step  1, or see step  1

  3. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  4. REMOVE NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT SIDE COVER PROTECTOR 
    1. Remove the 2 screws and grommet.

    2. Turn back the rear wheel house liner RH as shown in the illustration.

    3. Remove the clip.

    4. Remove the 2 clips, bolt and No. 1 luggage compartment side cover protector.

  5. DISCONNECT AIR CONDITIONING HOSE AND ACCESSORY 
    1. Remove the bolt and rotate the hook connector as shown in the illustration.

    2. Disconnect the suction tube.

    3. Remove the O-ring from the suction tube.
      NOTE:

      Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent entry of moisture and foreign matter.

    4. Disconnect the liquid tube.

    5. Remove the O-ring from the liquid tube.
      NOTE:

      Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent entry of moisture and foreign matter.

    6. Using pliers, grip the claws of the clip and slide the clip to disconnect the inlet heater water hose.

      NOTE:
      • Do not apply excessive force to the inlet heater water hose.
      • Prepare a drain pan or cloth in case the coolant leaks.
    7. Using pliers, grip the claws of the clip and slide the clip to disconnect the outlet heater water hose.

      NOTE:
      • Do not apply excessive force to the outlet heater water hose.
      • Prepare a drain pan or cloth in case the coolant leaks.
  6. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 SEAT ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [12/2017 - ]

  7. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9 [12/2017 - 08/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9 [08/2019 - ]

  8. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12 [12/2017 - 08/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12 [08/2019 - ]

  9. REMOVE REAR DOOR INSIDE SCUFF PLATE RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13 [12/2017 - 08/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13 [08/2019 - ]

  10. REMOVE REAR SEAT OUTER TRACK BRACKET COVER RH 

    for 60/40 Split Seat Type:

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [12/2017 - 08/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [08/2019 - ]

    for Captain Seat Type:

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [12/2017 - 08/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [08/2019 - ]

  11. REMOVE FRONT DECK SIDE TRIM COVER RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 28 [12/2017 - 08/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 28 [08/2019 - ]

  12. REMOVE REAR SEAT SIDE GARNISH RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 29 [12/2017 - 08/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 29 [08/2019 - ]

  13. REMOVE NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM HOOK 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 34 [12/2017 - 08/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 34 [08/2019 - ]

  14. REMOVE ROPE HOOK ASSEMBLY 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 31 [12/2017 - 08/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 31 [08/2019 - ]

  15. REMOVE NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LIGHT ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [12/2017 - 08/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [08/2019 - ]

  16. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 44 [12/2017 - 08/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 44 [08/2019 - ]

  17. DISCONNECT REAR NO. 2 SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 20 [12/2017 - 08/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 20 [08/2019 - ]

  18. REMOVE ROOF SIDE INNER GARNISH ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 37 [12/2017 - 08/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 37 [08/2019 - ]

  19. REMOVE REAR NO. 4 SIDE AIR DUCT 
    1. Remove the clip.

    2. Remove the rear No. 4 side air duct as shown in the illustration.
  20. REMOVE COOLER PLATE 
    1. Disengage the 2 claws to remove the cooler plate.

  21. REMOVE REAR NO. 3 SIDE AIR DUCT 
    1. Remove the clip.

      Remove in this Direction
    2. Remove the rear No. 3 side air duct as shown in the illustration.
  22. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 SIDE AIR DUCT 
    1. Disengage the clamp.

    2. Remove the clip.
    3. Remove the rear No. 2 side air duct as shown in the illustration.
  23. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 SIDE AIR DUCT

  24. REMOVE REAR NO. 7 AIR DUCT

  26. REMOVE REAR NO. 5 AIR DUCT

    2. Remove the rear No. 5 air duct as shown in the illustration.
  27. REMOVE REAR AIR CONDITIONING UNIT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect each connector.

    2. Disengage each clamp.
    3. Disconnect the drain cooler hose.

    4. Remove the 4 bolts.
    5. Disengage the guide and remove the rear air conditioning unit assembly.
  28. REMOVE REAR AIR DUCT 
    1. Remove the 3 screws and rear air duct.

  29. REMOVE WATER PIPE AND HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY A 
    1. Remove the bolt and screw.

    2. Slide the 2 clips and disconnect the water pipe and hose sub-assembly A.

      NOTE:
      • Do not apply excessive force to the water pipe and hose sub-assembly A.
      • Prepare a drain pan or cloth in case the coolant leaks.
  30. REMOVE NO. 1 COOLING UNIT PACKING 
    1. Remove the No. 1 cooling unit packing.

  31. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING TUBE AND ACCESSORY ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the bolt and rotate the hook connector as shown in the illustration.

    2. Remove the 3 screws and air conditioning tube and accessory assembly.
    3. Remove the 2 O-rings from the rear cooling unit expansion valve.
      NOTE:

      Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent entry of moisture and foreign matter.

  32. REMOVE DRAIN COOLER HOSE 
    1. Remove the drain cooler hose from the rear cooling unit assembly.
