Removal [10/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12

  2. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SEAL 
    1. Detach the 7 clips to remove the upper radiator support seal.

      *A for Type A
      *B for Type B
  3. REMOVE RADIATOR COVER PLATE 
    1. Detach the 7 clips to remove the radiator cover plate.

  4. REMOVE LOWER RADIATOR AIR DEFLECTOR 
    1. Detach the 7 clips to remove the lower radiator air deflector.

  5. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT TO CROSSMEMBER BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and radiator support to crossmember brace sub-assembly LH.

  6. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT TO CROSSMEMBER BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and radiator support to crossmember brace sub-assembly RH.

  7. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  8. REMOVE AIR CLEANER WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  9. REMOVE ENGINE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK GUIDE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 92

  10. REMOVE FRONT FENDER APRON INSULATOR LH 
    1. Remove the 3 bolts and front fender apron insulator LH.

  11. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 18

  12. REMOVE TRANSMISSION UNDER COVER

  13. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 20

  14. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER BRACE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 21

  15. REMOVE STRUT BAR BRACKET SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 22

  16. REMOVE REAR FLOOR SIDE MEMBER COVER LH 

    See step  1

  17. REMOVE REAR FLOOR SIDE MEMBER COVER RH 

    See step  2

  18. REMOVE NO. 2 FLOOR BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    See step  3

  19. REMOVE FLOOR BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY

  20. REMOVE FRONT CENTER FLOOR BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    See step  5

  21. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

  22. REMOVE NO. 1 EXHAUST PIPE SUPPORT BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and No. 1 exhaust pipe support bracket sub-assembly.

  23. REMOVE FENDER APRON BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 25

  24. REMOVE FENDER APRON BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 14

  25. REMOVE NO. 1 EGR PIPE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 17

  26. DISCONNECT AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR 
    WARNING:

    To prevent burns, do not touch the engine, exhaust pipe or other high temperature components while the engine is hot.

    1. for Bank 1 Sensor 1:
      1. Disconnect the connector.

      2. Detach the 3 wire harness clamps.
    2. for Bank 1 Sensor 2:
      1. Disconnect the connector.

      2. Detach the 2 wire harness clamps.
    3. for Bank 2 Sensor 1:

        Disconnect the connector.

      2. Detach the 4 wire harness clamps.
    4. for Bank 2 Sensor 2:
      1. Disconnect the connector.

      2. Detach the 3 wire harness clamps.
  27. REMOVE FRONT PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  28. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD ASSEMBLY LH 
    WARNING:

    To prevent burns, do not touch the engine, exhaust pipe or other high temperature components while the engine is hot.

    1. Remove the 4 nuts, exhaust manifold assembly LH and gasket.

    2. Using SST, remove the 2 air fuel ratio sensors from the exhaust manifold assembly LH.
      • SST: 09224-00012

      *A Bank 2 Sensor 1 Side
      *B Bank 2 Sensor 2 Side
  29. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD ASSEMBLY RH 
    WARNING:

    To prevent burns, do not touch the engine, exhaust pipe or other high temperature components while the engine is hot.

    1. Remove the 4 nuts, exhaust manifold assembly RH and gasket.

    2. Using SST, remove the 2 air fuel ratio sensors from the exhaust manifold assembly RH.

  30. REMOVE NO. 1 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR 
    1. Remove the 6 bolts and 2 No. 1 exhaust manifold heat insulators from the exhaust manifold assembly.

  31. REMOVE NO. 1 MANIFOLD CONVERTER INSULATOR 
    1. Remove the 8 bolts and 2 No. 1 manifold converter insulators from the exhaust manifold assembly.

  32. REMOVE NO. 2 MANIFOLD CONVERTER INSULATOR

      1. Remove the 3 bolts and No. 2 manifold converter insulator from the exhaust manifold assembly.
    2. Exhaust manifold assembly RH side:
      1. Remove the 4 bolts and No. 2 manifold converter insulator from the exhaust manifold assembly.
