Removal [11/2021 - 10/2022]: Procedure

  1. AIR SUSPENSION CONTROL PROHIBITED (w/ Air Suspension) 

    Refer to PRECAUTION [10/2017 - ]

  2. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 23

  3. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 25

  4. REMOVE STRUT BAR BRACKET SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 27

  5. DISCONNECT BRAKE BOOSTER PUMP CONNECTOR (w/o Advanced Park) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  6. DISABLE BRAKE CONTROL (w/ Advanced Park) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  7. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  8. DISCONNECT FRONT SPEED SENSOR WIRE 
    1. Remove the nut and sensor clamp.

    2. for LH Side:

      1. Remove the bolt and speed sensor.
      2. Remove the bolt and sensor clamp.
  9. DISCONNECT DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY 
    1. for RH side:

      except 6-Pot Caliper:

      1. Disconnect the pad wear indicator assembly.

      2. Detach the guide to remove the pad wear indicator assembly.

    2. for RH side:

      for 6-pot Caliper:

      Disconnect the bolt and front flexible hose from front flexible hose bracket LH.

      1. Disconnect the pad wear indicator assembly.

      2. Detach the guide to remove the pad wear indicator assembly.

      Remove the 2 bolts and front flexible hose.

    4. Remove the bolt and bracket.

      Loosen the bolts on the lower side of the disc brake cylinder assembly LH and remove the bolts on the top side.

      NOTE:

      Do not excessively loosen the bolts on the lower side of the disc brake cylinder assembly LH.

    6. Tilt the disc brake cylinder assembly LH and install SST as shown in the illustration.

      • SST: 09727-00110 
    7. Install SST to the No. 2 front suspension upper arm assembly LH.
      NOTE:

      The No. 2 front suspension upper arm assembly LH may become damaged if the metal part of SST contacts it. Therefore, install it so that the metal part does not contact the No. 2 front suspension upper arm assembly LH.

    8. Remove the bolt on the lower side of the disc brake cylinder assembly LH and disconnect it.

      NOTE:
      • Do not apply excessive force to the flexible hose.
      • If there is no looseness in the flexible hose, adjust the length of SST.
  10. REMOVE FRONT DISC LH 
  11. REMOVE FRONT AXLE SHAFT LH NUT 
    1. Using a chisel and a hammer, release the staked part of the front axle shaft nut.

      NOTE:

      Release the staked part of the nut completely, otherwise the threads of the drive shaft may be damaged.

    2. Using a 30 mm socket wrench, remove the axle hub nut.
  12. REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE DUST COVER LH

      Remove the 3 bolts and front disc brake dust cover LH.

  13. DISCONNECT TIE ROD ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 16

  14. LOOSEN FRONT SUSPENSION LOWER ARM ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 14

  15. DISCONNECT FRONT SUSPENSION UPPER ARM 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  16. REMOVE STEERING KNUCKLE LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 16

  17. REMOVE FRONT AXLE HUB SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Using a hexagon socket wrench 12 mm, remove the 4 bolts and front axle hub sub-assembly LH.

  18. REMOVE DISC BRAKE AIR GUIDE PLATE 
    1. Remove the disc brake air guide plate from the steering knuckle LH.
