Removal [09/2018 - 10/2020]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [10/2017 - 09/2019] , or refer to PRECAUTION [09/2019 - 10/2020]

  2. AIR SUSPENSION CONTROL PROHIBITED (w/ Air Suspension) 

    Refer to PRECAUTION [10/2017 - ]

  3. DISCONNECT BRAKE BOOSTER PUMP CONNECTOR 
    1. With the power switch off, disconnect the 2 brake booster pump connectors.

  4. PERFORM ACCUMULATOR PRESSURE ZERO DOWN 
    1. Drain the brake fluid in the brake master cylinder reservoir assembly to near the MIN line.

      *a MAX Line
      *b MIN Line
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3 with the power switch off.
    3. Check that the parking brake is applied, and turn the power switch on (IG).
    4. Turn the Techstream on and enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRAC / Utility / ECB (Electronically Controlled Brake System) Utility / Zero Down.

      Chassis > ABS/VSC/TRAC > Utility 

      Tester Display
      ECB Utility

      HINT: 

      Using the Techstream to perform accumulator pressure zero down causes the pressurized brake fluid in the accumulator to be returned to the brake master cylinder reservoir assembly.

    5. When the buzzer sounds, turn the power switch off.
    6. Turn the Techstream off and disconnect the Techstream from the DLC3.
  5. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID 
    NOTE:

    If brake fluid leaks onto any painted surface, immediately wash it off.

  6. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 24

  7. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  8. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SEAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  9. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [10/2017 - 10/2020]

  10. REMOVE FRONT APRON FENDER INSULATOR LH

      Remove the 3 bolts and front apron fender insulator LH.

  11. REMOVE FENDER APRON BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 26

  12. DISCONNECT RELAY BLOCK

      Detach the 3 claws and remove the No. 2 relay block cover.

    2. Remove the bolt.

    3. Detach the 2 claws and disconnect the wiring harness protector.
    4. Remove the 2 bolts, nut and disconnect the relay block.

    5. Remove the bolt and disconnect the wire harness clamp.

    6. Remove the bolt and wire harness clamp bracket.
    7. Detach the 9 claws and remove the relay block lower cover.

    8. Move the relay block as shown in the illustration to create a clearance.

  13. DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS 
    1. Release the lock lever and disconnect the brake actuator connector from the brake actuator assembly.

    2. Detach the 2 clips from the brake actuator bracket assembly.
  14. DISCONNECT BRAKE TUBE 
    1. Use tags or make a memo to identify the places to reconnect the brake lines.

      *a From Brake Stroke Simulator Cylinder Sub-assembly
      *b From Brake Master Cylinder Sub-assembly
      *c To Rear Wheel Cylinder Assembly RH
      *d To Rear Wheel Cylinder Assembly LH
      *e To Front Wheel Cylinder Assembly RH
    2. Using a union nut wrench, disconnect the 10 brake tube flare nuts.

      NOTE:
      • Do not kink or damage the brake tube.
      • Do not allow any foreign matter such as dirt or dust to enter the brake tube from the connecting parts.
    3. Remove the bolt and disconnect the No. 2 brake actuator tube clamp.

  15. REMOVE BRAKE TUBE 
    1. Detach the claws and disconnect the 3 upper side brake tubes from the clamp.

    2. Remove the 3 lower side brake tubes with the clamp attached.

    3. Detach the claws and disconnect the 3 brake tubes from the clamp.

  16. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR WITH BRACKET 
    1. Slide the clip and disconnect the brake actuator hose from the brake master cylinder reservoir assembly.

    2. Remove the bolt, 2 nuts and brake actuator with bracket.
      NOTE:
      • Do not kink or damage the brake tubes.
      • Do not hold the brake actuator with bracket by the connector, hose or union.
      • Do not allow any foreign matter such as dirt or dust to enter the brake lines from the connecting parts.
  17. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR HOSE 
    1. Slide the clip and disconnect the brake actuator hose from the brake actuator assembly.

  18. REMOVE NO. 3 BRAKE ACTUATOR TUBE 
    1. Using a union nut wrench, disconnect the No. 3 brake actuator tube from the brake actuator assembly.

      NOTE:
      • Do not kink or damage the No. 3 brake actuator tube.
      • Do not allow any foreign matter such as dirt or dust to enter the No. 3 brake actuator tube from the connecting parts.
  19. REMOVE NO. 1 BRAKE ACTUATOR WAY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and No. 1 brake actuator way from the brake actuator assembly.

  20. REMOVE NO. 2 BRAKE ACTUATOR BRACKET 
    1. Remove the 3 nuts and No. 2 brake actuator bracket from the brake actuator assembly.

    2. Remove the 3 brake actuator bracket spacers from the brake actuator bracket cushion.

    3. Remove the 3 brake actuator bracket cushions from the No. 2 brake actuator bracket.
  21. REMOVE NO. 1 BRAKE ACTUATOR BRACKET 
    1. Remove the 3 bolts and No. 1 brake actuator bracket from the brake actuator assembly.

  22. REMOVE NO. 3 BRAKE ACTUATOR BRACKET 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts and No. 3 brake actuator bracket from the body.
