Installation [10/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL ATF TEMPERATURE SENSOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Coat a new O-ring with ATF and install it to the ATF temperature sensor assembly.
    2. Coat the 4 bolts with ATF.
    3. Install the ATF temperature sensor assembly and clamp to the transmission valve body assembly with the 4 bolts.

      *1 Clamp

      Torque: 10.8 N.m (110 kgf/cm, 8 ft.lbf) 

      Bolt Length

      Bolt Length (mm (in.))
      A 25 mm (0.984)
      B 85 mm (3.346)
    4. Connect the connector.
  2. INSTALL VALVE BODY OIL STRAINER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Coat a new O-ring with ATF and install it to the valve body oil strainer assembly.
      NOTE:

      Ensure that the O-ring is not twisted or pinched.

    2. Install the valve body oil strainer assembly to the transmission valve body assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 10.8 N.m (110 kgf/cm, 8 ft.lbf) 

  3. INSTALL AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE OIL PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the 2 transmission oil cleaner magnets to the automatic transaxle oil pan sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

    2. Clean the contact surfaces of the automatic transaxle assembly and automatic transaxle oil pan sub-assembly.
    3. Clean and degrease the bolt and the bolt hole in the automatic transaxle assembly.

    4. Install a new automatic transaxle oil pan gasket to the automatic transaxle oil pan sub-assembly.
    5. Install the automatic transaxle oil pan sub-assembly with automatic transaxle oil pan gasket to the transaxle case with the 17 bolts.

      Torque: 7.5 N.m (76 kgf/cm, 66 in.lbf) 

      NOTE:

      Completely remove any oil or grease from the contact surfaces of the transaxle case and automatic transaxle oil pan sub-assembly with automatic transaxle oil pan gasket before installation.

    6. Apply adhesive to the bolt.

      Adhesive

      Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1344, Three Bond 1344 or equivalent

    7. Install the bolt.

      Torque: 7.0 N.m (71 kgf/cm, 62 in.lbf) 

      NOTE:

      In order to ensure proper sealing of the automatic transaxle oil pan sub-assembly bolt, apply adhesive to the bolt and install it within 10 minutes of adhesive application.

  4. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER REINFORCEMENT LH 
    1. Install the front suspension member reinforcement LH with the 4 bolts.

      Torque: 99 N.m (1010 kgf/cm, 73 ft.lbf)

      Bolt Length

      A 25 mm (0.984)
      B 95 mm (3.740)
  5. ADD AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID 

    See step  5 [10/2014 - 05/2019], or see step  5 [05/2019 - 07/2020], or see step  5 [07/2020 - ]

  6. ADJUST AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID 

    Refer to ADJUSTMENT [10/2014 - 05/2019] , or refer to ADJUSTMENT [05/2019 - 07/2020] , or refer to ADJUSTMENT [07/2020 - ] 

  7. INSPECT FOR OIL LEAK 
  8. INSTALL REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 96 [10/2014 - 05/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 97 [05/2019 - ]

  9. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY (for Sport Package) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 99 [10/2014 - 05/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 100 [05/2019 - ]
