Installation [10/2020 - 10/2023]: Procedure

  1. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN FRONT PNEUMATIC CYLINDER WITH SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY LH

      When installing a new front pneumatic cylinder with shock absorber assembly LH:

      1. Align the paintmarks on the front suspension support assembly and pneumatic cylinder chamber.

      *a Matchmark

      When reusing the front pneumatic cylinder with shock absorber assembly LH:

      1. Install 2 new O-rings, a new plate and new No. 2 connector to the front pneumatic cylinder with shock absorber assembly LH.

        Refer to PRECAUTION [10/2017 - ]

      2. Align the matchmarks on the front suspension support assembly and pneumatic cylinder chamber.
    3. Temporarily tighten the front pneumatic cylinder with shock absorber assembly LH (upper side) with the 3 nuts.

    4. Temporarily tighten the front pneumatic cylinder with shock absorber assembly LH (lower side) to the front lower suspension arm assembly with the bolt and nut.
      NOTE:
      • Insert the bolt from the rear of the vehicle.
      • Because the nut has its own stopper, do not turn the nut. Tighten the bolt with the nut secured.

      HINT: 

      Fully tighten the bolt after stabilizing the suspension.

  2. CONNECT NO. 4 HEIGHT CONTROL TUBE 
    1. Connect the No. 4 height control tube to the front pneumatic cylinder with shock absorber assembly LH.

      Refer to PRECAUTION [10/2017 - ]

  3. CONNECT STEERING KNUCKLE ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  4. CONNECT DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 14 [10/2020 - 10/2022] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 14 [10/2022 - 10/2023]

  5. CONNECT FRONT SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE LH 
    1. Install the front skid control sensor wire LH with the nut.

      Torque: 8.5 N.m (87 kgf/cm, 75 in.lbf)

  6. CONNECT FRONT HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Install the front height control sensor sub-assembly LH with the bolt.

      Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf/cm, 48 in.lbf) 

  7. CONNECT FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Install the front stabilizer link assembly LH with the nut.

      HINT: 

      If the ball joint turns together with the nut, use a 8 mm hexagon wrench to hold the stud bolt.

      Torque: 125 N.m (1275 kgf/cm, 92 ft.lbf)

  8. INSTALL ABSORBER CONTROL WIRE LH 
    1. Connect the clamp and 2 connectors.

    2. Install the absorber control wire LH with the bolt and nut.

      Torque: 8.5 N.m (87 kgf/cm, 75 in.lbf) 

  9. AIR MOVEMENT (WHEN REPLACING A FRONT PNEUMATIC CYLINDER) 

    HINT: 

    Move the air pressure according to the instructions on the Techstream.

  10. AIR MOVEMENT (WHEN REPLACING THE 2 FRONT PNEUMATIC CYLINDERS) 

    HINT: 

    Move the air pressure according to the instructions on the Techstream.

    See step  2 [10/2020 - 11/2021], or see step  2 [11/2021 - 10/2022], or see step  2 [10/2022 - 10/2023]

  11. STABILIZE SUSPENSION 
    1. Install the front wheel.
    2. Lower the vehicle and bounce it up and down several times to stabilize the front suspension.
    3. Remove the front wheel.
    4. Jack up the front lower suspension arm assembly, and place a wooden block under it to avoid damage. Apply load to the suspension so that the front lower suspension arm assembly is placed in a horizontal position.
      WARNING:
      • Do not raise the jack up too high.
      • The vehicle could fall, resulting in a serious accident.

      NOTE:
      • When jacking up the front lower suspension arm assembly, be sure to jack it up slowly.
      • Make sure to perform this operation with the vehicle kept as low as possible.

  12. FULLY TIGHTEN FRONT PNEUMATIC CYLINDER WITH SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Install the front pneumatic cylinder with shock absorber assembly LH (upper side) with the 3 nuts.

      Torque: 44 N.m (449 kgf/cm, 32 ft.lbf) 

    2. Fully tighten the front pneumatic cylinder with shock absorber assembly LH bolt.

      Torque: 110 N.m (1122 kgf/cm, 81 ft.lbf) 

      NOTE:

      Because the nut has its own stopper, do not turn the nut. Tighten the bolt with the nut secured.

  13. INSTALL FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER CAP LH 
    1. Install the front shock absorber cap LH.

  14. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [10/2017 - 10/2023]

  15. INSTALL UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SEAL (for LH Side) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 44

  16. INSTALL RADIATOR COVER PLATE (for RH Side) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 45

  17. CONNECT BRAKE BOOSTER PUMP CONNECTOR (w/o Advanced Park) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [10/2020 - 11/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [11/2021 - 10/2023]

  18. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL (w/ Advanced Park) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [10/2020 - 11/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [11/2021 - 10/2023]

  19. INITIALIZATION AFTER RECONNECTING AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL (w/ Advanced Park) 

    Refer to WORK PROCEDURE [10/2020 - 11/2021] , or refer to WORK PROCEDURE [11/2021 - 10/2022] , or refer to WORK PROCEDURE [10/2022 - ]

    HINT: 

    When disconnecting and reconnecting the auxiliary battery, there is an automatic learning function that completes learning when the respective system is used.

  20. CHECK CONNECTIONS OF TUBES FOR AIR LEAKAGE 

    Refer to OPERATION CHECK [10/2017 - ]

  21. INSPECT AND ADJUST FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT 

    Refer to ADJUSTMENT [10/2020 - 10/2023]

  22. INSPECT AND ADJUST VEHICLE HEIGHT 

    Refer to ADJUSTMENT [10/2020 - 10/2023]

  23. CHECK HEIGHT CHANGE OPERATION 

    Refer to OPERATION CHECK [10/2017 - ]

  24. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 

    Refer to WORK PROCEDURE [10/2020 - 11/2021] , or refer to WORK PROCEDURE [11/2021 - 10/2022] , or refer to WORK PROCEDURE [10/2022 - 10/2023]

  25. ADJUST HEADLIGHT AIMING 

    Refer to ADJUSTMENT [10/2020 - ]
