Removal [09/2018 - 10/2020]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [12/2017 - 10/2020]

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2018 - 10/2020]

  3. REMOVE FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT 

    Refer to REMOVAL [12/2017 - ]

  4. DISCONNECT NO. 3 ENGINE WIRE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 59

  5. REMOVE AIR CLEANER SUPPORT BRACKET ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and air cleaner support bracket assembly.

  6. REMOVE GENERATOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the engine wire.

    2. Remove the terminal cap.
    3. Detach the clamp.
    4. Remove the nut and disconnect the engine wire from terminal B.
    5. Disconnect the generator assembly connector.
    6. Remove the 4 bolts and disconnect the wire harness.

      *A for 2WD
      *B for AWD
    7. Remove the 2 bolt and 2 nuts.

    8. Using an E8 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 2 stud bolts and generator assembly.

    9. Remove the generator assembly as shown in the illustration.
