Removal [08/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SEAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15 [08/2015 - 08/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15 [08/2020 - ]

  2. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 16 [08/2015 - 08/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 16 [08/2020 - ]

  3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP AND HOSE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 24 [08/2015 - 08/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 24 [08/2020 - ]

  4. REMOVE LOWER FRONT BUMPER COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [08/2015 - 08/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [08/2020 - ]

  5. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [08/2015 - 08/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [08/2020 - ]

  6. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  7. DISCONNECT NO. 12 WATER BY-PASS HOSE

      Disconnect the No. 12 water by-pass hose from the EGR valve assembly.

  8. DISCONNECT NO. 13 WATER BY-PASS HOSE

      Disconnect the No. 13 water by-pass hose from the EGR valve assembly.

  9. REMOVE EGR VALVE ASSEMBLY

      Detach the wire harness clamp and disconnect the EGR valve connector.

      Remove the 4 nuts.

      Remove the 2 bolts and EGR valve assembly.

      Remove the gasket from the No. 2 EGR pipe.

      NOTE:

      Be careful not to damage the surfaces that contact the gasket.

      Remove the gasket from the intake manifold.

  10. REMOVE EGR INLET

      Remove the 2 bolts, EGR inlet and gasket.

      NOTE:

      Be careful not to damage the surfaces that contact the gasket.

  11. REMOVE NO. 3 EGR PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 2 nuts, No. 3 EGR pipe sub-assembly and gasket.

      NOTE:

      Be careful not to damage the surfaces that contact the gasket.

  12. REMOVE EGR VALVE BRACKET

      Remove the 3 bolts and EGR valve bracket.
