Removal [08/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:
    • w/ Navigation System:

      After the engine switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, be sure to wait for the time specified in the following table before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      Condition Waiting Time
      Vehicle enrolled in safety connect system 6 minutes
      Vehicle not enrolled in safety connect system 1 minute
    • When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2015 - 08/2019] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2019 - 08/2021] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2021 - 08/2022] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2022 - ] ).
  2. REMOVE RADIATOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the radiator assembly (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] ).
  3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP AND HOSE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 24 [08/2015 - 08/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 24 [08/2020 - ]

  4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER FILTER ELEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY 
  5. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 26 [08/2015 - 08/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 26 [08/2020 - ]

  6. REMOVE FRONT FENDER APRON SEAL RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12 [08/2015 - 08/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12 [08/2020 - ]

  7. DISCONNECT VANE PUMP ASSEMBLY 
    1. Detach the clamp and disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the vane pump.

  8. REMOVE GENERATOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the No. 2 return tube bracket.

    2. Disconnect the generator connector.

    3. Remove the terminal cap.
    4. Remove the nut and disconnect the generator wire.
    5. Detach the generator wire.
    6. Remove the bolt and disconnect the wire harness bracket from the generator.

    7. Remove the 3 bolts, nut and generator.
