Removal [08/2015 - 08/2019]: Procedure

  1. TABLE OF BOLT, SCREW AND NUT 

    HINT: 

    All bolts, screws and nuts relevant to installing and removing the instrument panel are shown along with their alphabet code in the table below.

  2. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (Refer to PRECAUTION [08/2015 - ] ).

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    1. Disable the auto tilt away function by changing the customize parameter (Refer to CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS [08/2015 - 08/2019] ).
      NOTE:

      Record the current customize parameter setting (whether the auto tilt away function is enabled or disabled) in order to restore the current setting after finishing the operation.

      HINT: 

      Performing the above operation causes the auto tilt away function to be disabled when the engine switch is turned off.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Operate the tilt and telescopic switch to fully extend and lower the steering column assembly.
    3. Turn the engine switch off and disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
      WARNING:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      NOTE:

      When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2015 - 08/2019] ).

  4. REMOVE HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] )

  5. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY 

    w/o Refrigerated Cool Box:

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - 08/2019] )

    w/ Refrigerated Cool Box:

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - 08/2021] )

  6. REMOVE DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSEMBLY LH 

    See step  5[08/2015 - 08/2016], or see step  5[08/2016 - 08/2019]

  7. REMOVE DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  8. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH 

    See step  7[08/2015 - 08/2016], or see step  7[08/2016 - 08/2019]

  9. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  10. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH 

    See step  9[08/2015 - 08/2016], or see step  9

  11. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  12. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 ASSIST GRIP PLUG LH 

    See step  11[08/2015 - 08/2016], or see step  11[08/2016 - 08/2019]

  13. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 ASSIST GRIP PLUG RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  14. REMOVE NO. 1 ASSIST GRIP

  15. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH 

    See step  14[08/2015 - 08/2016], or see step  14[08/2016 - 08/2019]

  16. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  17. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH

    1. Put protective tape around the instrument side panel LH.

    2. Using a moulding remover B, detach the 3 clips and 2 guides and remove the instrument side panel LH.
  18. REMOVE NO. 2 SWITCH HOLE BASE

    1. Put protective tape around the No. 2 switch hole base.

    2. Using a moulding remover B, detach the 5 clips and claw and remove the No. 2 switch hole base.
    3. Disconnect each connector.
  19. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH CUSHION

    1. Put protective tape around the No. 1 instrument panel finish cushion.

    2. Using a moulding remover B, detach the 4 clips and remove the No. 1 instrument panel finish cushion.
    3. Disconnect the connector.
  20. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY

    1. Detach the 4 clips and remove the lower instrument panel finish panel assembly.
    2. Disconnect each connector and cooler thermistor.

    1. Detach the 4 claws, 2 clips and guide and remove the instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly.
  22. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY

    1. Detach the 5 clips and remove the No. 1 instrument panel register assembly.
  23. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11

    1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and open the cover.

      HINT: 

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

      Remove the 2 bolts <C>.

    3. Detach the 13 clips and 2 guides and remove the lower instrument panel finish panel sub-assembly.
    4. Disconnect each connector and hood lock control cable.
  25. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

    1. Put protective tape around the instrument side panel RH.

    2. Using a moulding remover B, detach the 3 clips and 2 guides and remove the instrument side panel RH.

    1. Detach the 13 clips and remove the center instrument cluster finish panel garnish together with the instrument cluster finish panel garnish.

  28. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY

    1. Detach the 8 clips and remove the No. 2 instrument panel register assembly.
  29. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT COVER LH

    1. Put protective tape around the lower instrument cover LH.
    2. Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws and remove the lower instrument cover LH.

      HINT: 

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  30. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure for all instrument panel box door covers.

    1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and 2 guides and remove the instrument panel box door cover.

      HINT: 

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  32. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the 3 screws <B> and 2 bolts <C>.

    2. Detach the 4 clips and remove the instrument panel box.
    3. Disconnect each connector and detach the wire harness clamp.
  33. REMOVE DRIVING SUPPORT SWITCH CONTROL ECU

  34. REMOVE 4 WHEEL DRIVE CONTROL ECU 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11

  35. REMOVE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15 [08/2015 - 08/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15 [08/2018 - 08/2021]

  36. REMOVE FRONT UPPER CONSOLE PANEL GARNISH

    1. Detach the 2 clips and remove the front upper console panel garnish.
  37. REMOVE MULTI-MEDIA MODULE RECEIVER ASSEMBLY 

    w/o Navigation System:

  38. REMOVE MULTI-DISPLAY ASSEMBLY

  39. REMOVE UPPER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL

    *a Protective Tape
    1. Put protective tape around the upper instrument cluster finish panel.
    2. Using a screwdriver, detach the 10 clips and guide and remove the upper instrument cluster finish panel.

      HINT: 

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  40. REMOVE FRONT NO. 4 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  41. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Put protective tape around the No. 1 instrument panel speaker panel sub-assembly.
    2. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 clips, claw and 2 guides and remove the No. 1 instrument panel speaker panel sub-assembly.

      HINT: 

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  42. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the No. 1 instrument panel speaker panel sub-assembly.

  43. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  44. REMOVE FRONT NO. 3 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  45. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - 08/2021] )

  46. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  47. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Partially remove the floor carpet.

      HINT: 

      It is not necessary to fully remove the floor carpet. Partially remove it so that the No. 2 instrument panel wire can be removed in a later step.

    2. Remove the 6 bolts <D> and nut <E>.
    3. Remove the 2 passenger airbag bolts <F>.
    4. Disconnect each connector and detach each wire harness clamp and claw.
    5. Detach the 2 guides and remove the instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly.
