Removal [08/2020 - 08/2021]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    Make sure to select face mode before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

  2. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM 

    See step  1

  3. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [06/2018 - ]

  4. REMOVE FRONT CENTER UPPER SUSPENSION BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  5. DISCONNECT OUTLET HEATER WATER HOSE (for A25A-FKS) 
    1. Using pliers, grip the claws of the clip and slide the clip to disconnect the outlet heater water hose.

      NOTE:
      • Do not apply excessive force to the outlet heater water hose.
      • Prepare a drain pan or cloth in case the coolant leaks.
  6. DISCONNECT OUTLET HEATER WATER HOSE (for 2GR-FKS) 
    1. Using pliers, grip the claws of the clip and slide the clip to disconnect the outlet heater water hose.

      NOTE:
      • Do not apply excessive force to the outlet heater water hose.
      • Prepare a drain pan or cloth in case the coolant leaks.
  7. DISCONNECT INLET HEATER WATER HOSE (for A25A-FKS) 
    1. Using pliers, grip the claws of the clip and slide the clip to disconnect the inlet heater water hose.
      NOTE:
      • Do not apply excessive force to the inlet heater water hose.
      • Prepare a drain pan or cloth in case the coolant leaks.

  8. DISCONNECT INLET HEATER WATER HOSE (for 2GR-FKS) 
    1. Using pliers, grip the claws of the clip and slide the clip to disconnect the inlet heater water hose.
      NOTE:
      • Do not apply excessive force to the inlet heater water hose.
      • Prepare a drain pan or cloth in case the coolant leaks.

  9. DISCONNECT SUCTION TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY B (w/o Sub-cool Accelerator) 
    1. Remove the bolt and rotate the hook connector as shown in the illustration.

    2. Disconnect the suction tube sub-assembly B.

    3. Remove the O-ring from the suction tube sub-assembly B.
      NOTE:

      Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent entry of moisture and foreign matter.

  10. DISCONNECT AIR CONDITIONING TUBE AND ACCESSORY ASSEMBLY (w/o Sub-cool Accelerator) 
    1. Disconnect the air conditioning tube and accessory assembly.

    2. Remove the O-ring from the air conditioning tube and accessory assembly.
      NOTE:

      Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent entry of moisture and foreign matter.

  11. DISCONNECT SUCTION TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY B (w/ Sub-cool Accelerator) 
    1. Remove the bolt and rotate the hook connector as shown in the illustration.

    2. Disconnect the suction tube sub-assembly B.

    3. Remove the 2 O-rings from the suction tube sub-assembly B.
      NOTE:

      Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent entry of moisture and foreign matter.

  12. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH 

    for TMC Made:

  13. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  14. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY

  15. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY

  16. REMOVE ECU INTEGRATION BOX RH

  17. REMOVE STEREO COMPONENT EQUALIZER ASSEMBLY (w/ Active Noise Control System)

  18. REMOVE COOLER (ROOM TEMP. SENSOR) THERMISTOR

  34. DISCONNECT INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE 
    1. Disconnect each connector.

    2. Remove the bolt and disconnect the relay block holder.
    3. Remove the 4 bolts and disconnect the 4 earth wires.
    4. Remove the 2 nuts and disconnect the connector holder.
    5. Disengage each clamp.
    6. Push down the part (A) in the direction indicated by the arrow (1), to release the lock, and then move the lock lever in the direction indicated by the arrow (2) shown in the illustration to disconnect the connector.

      NOTE:

      When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

    7. Disengage each clamp to separate the instrument panel wire.

    1. w/ PTC Heater:
      1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the earth wire.

    2. Disengage each clamp.
    3. Remove the bolt, screw, nut and No. 2 instrument panel brace sub-assembly.

  37. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL REINFORCEMENT ASSEMBLY WITH AIR CONDITIONER UNIT ASSEMBLY 
    NOTE:
    • Be sure to support the air conditioner unit assembly when removing it. Failure to do so may cause the bracket of the air conditioner unit assembly to break.
    • When disassembling the air conditioner unit assembly, eliminate static electricity by touching the vehicle body to prevent the components from being damaged.
    1. Turn back the front floor mat as shown in the illustration.

    2. Disconnect the drain cooler hose.

      *1 Cooler Unit Drain Hose Grommet
      NOTE:

      If the drain cooler hose is disconnected from the cooler unit drain hose grommet, make sure to replace the cooler unit drain hose grommet with a new one. Failure to do so may lead to water ingress.

    3. Remove the cooler unit drain hose grommet.

    4. Remove the 2 hole plugs.

    5. Remove the 4 bolts (A).

    6. Remove the bolt (B) and disconnect the brake pedal assembly.
    7. Remove the nut.
    8. Disengage each clamp.

      Remove in this Direction - -
    9. Disconnect each connector.
    10. Remove the instrument panel reinforcement assembly with air conditioner unit assembly as shown in the illustration.
    11. Disengage the claw and 2 guides to disconnect the ID code box (immobiliser code ECU) as shown in the illustration.
