Removal [08/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    NOTE:
    • w/ Navigation System:

      After the engine switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, be sure to wait for the time specified in the following table before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      WAITING TIME BEFORE DISCONNECTING CABLE FROM NEGATIVE (-) BATTERY TERMINAL

      Condition Waiting Time
      Vehicle enrolled in safety connect system 6 minutes
      Vehicle not enrolled in safety connect system 1 minute
    • When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2015 - 08/2019] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2019 - 08/2021] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2021 - 08/2022] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2022 - ] ).
  2. REMOVE DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSEMBLY RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [08/2015 - 08/2016] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [08/2016 - 08/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [08/2019 - ]

  3. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [08/2015 - 08/2016] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [08/2016 - 08/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [08/2019 - ]

  4. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [08/2015 - 08/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [08/2019 - 08/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [08/2021 - ]

  5. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [08/2015 - 08/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [08/2019 - 08/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [08/2021 - ]

  6. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT COVER LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 29 [08/2015 - 08/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 29 [08/2019 - 08/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 29 [08/2021 - ]

  7. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 3 bolts.

    2. Detach the 6 claws and remove the instrument panel airbag.
    3. Disconnect the connector.
      NOTE:

      When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
