Shift Paddle Switch Circuit [10/2022 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SHIFT PADDLE SWITCH - ECM) 
    1. Disconnect the A82 ECM connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A82-42 (SFTU) - A82-41 (ECCS) Pull continuously "+" (Up shift) Below 2.5 Ω
      Release "+" (Up shift) 1 MΩ or higher
      A82-43 (SFTD) - A82-41 (ECCS) Pull continuously "-" (Down shift) Below 2.5 Ω
      Release "-" (Down shift) 1 MΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG

  2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS AND CONNECTORS (ECM - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the F67 ECM connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F67-53 (E1) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [10/2015 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (ECM - BODY GROUND) 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - ECM) 
    1. Disconnect the O25 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the A82 ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A82-42 (SFTU) - O25-8 (SUP) Always Below 1 Ω
      A82-43 (SFTD) - O25-1 (SDN) Always Below 1 Ω
      A82-41 (ECCS) - O25-2 (ECC) Always Below 1 Ω
      A82-42 (SFTU) or O25-8 (SUP) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A82-43 (SFTD) or O25-1 (SDN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A82-41 (ECCS) or O25-2 (ECC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  4. INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Inspect the spiral cable sub-assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [11/2017 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    REPLACE SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS [11/2017 - ]

  5. INSPECT TRANSMISSION SHIFT SWITCH ASSEMBLY (SHIFT PADDLE SWITCH LH) 
    1. Remove the transmission shift switch assembly (shift paddle switch LH).

      Refer to REMOVAL [11/2017 - ]

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Shift Paddle Switch LH (Transmission Shift Switch Assembly))
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B-1 (SDN) - B-2 (ECC) Pull continuously "-" (Down shift) Below 2.5 Ω
      Release "-" (Down shift) 1 MΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE TRANSMISSION SHIFT SWITCH ASSEMBLY (SHIFT PADDLE SWITCH LH). Refer to  COMPONENTS [11/2017 - ]

  6. INSPECT TRANSMISSION SHIFT SWITCH ASSEMBLY (SHIFT PADDLE SWITCH RH) 
    1. Remove the transmission shift switch assembly (shift paddle switch RH).

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Shift Paddle Switch RH (Transmission Shift Switch Assembly))

      Refer to REMOVAL [11/2017 - ]

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A-3 (SUP) - A-2 (ECC) Pull continuously "+" (Up shift) Below 2.5 Ω
      Release "+" (Up shift) 1 MΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result:

    REPLACE TRANSMISSION SHIFT SWITCH ASSEMBLY (SHIFT PADDLE SWITCH RH). Refer to  COMPONENTS [11/2017 - ]

  7. INSPECT NO. 1 SWITCH WIRE 
    1. Install the transmission shift switch assembly.

      (to Steering Pad Switch Assembly)

      Refer to INSTALLATION [11/2017 - ]

    2. Disconnect the z16 No. 1 switch wire connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      z16-1 (SUP) - z16-4 (ECC) Pull continuously "+" (Up shift) Below 2.5 Ω
      Release "+" (Up shift) 1 MΩ or higher
      z16-3 (SDN) - z16-4 (ECC) Pull continuously "-" (Down shift) Below 2.5 Ω
      Release "-" (Down shift) 1 MΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK
