Installation [09/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY (TILT STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY WITH MOTOR) 
    1. Install the steering column assembly with the 4 nuts.

      Torque: 26 N*m (260 kgf*cm, 19 ft.*lbf) 

    2. Connect the connectors and wire harness clamps to the steering column assembly.
  2. INSTALL NO. 2 STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for AWD) 
    1. Install the clamp to the steering column hole cover sub-assembly.
    2. Align the matchmarks on the No. 2 steering intermediate shaft assembly and steering column.

    3. Install the bolt.

      Torque: 35 N*m (360 kgf*cm, 26 ft.*lbf) 

    4. Align the matchmarks on the No. 2 steering intermediate shaft assembly and steering link.

    5. Install the bolt.

      Torque: 35 N*m (360 kgf*cm, 26 ft.*lbf) 

  3. INSTALL NO. 2 STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for 2WD) 
    1. Install the clamp to the steering column hole shield.
    2. Align the matchmarks on the No. 2 steering intermediate shaft assembly and the steering column.

    3. Install the bolt.

      Torque: 35 N*m (360 kgf*cm, 26 ft.*lbf) 

  4. INSTALL STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT 
    1. Align the matchmarks on the steering intermediate shaft and power steering link.

    2. Install the bolt.

      Torque: 35 N*m (360 kgf*cm, 26 ft.*lbf) 

  5. INSTALL STEERING SLIDING WITH SHAFT YOKE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 2WD) 
    1. Align the matchmarks on the No. 2 steering intermediate shaft assembly and steering sliding yoke sub-assembly.

    2. Align the matchmarks on the steering sliding yoke sub-assembly and steering intermediate shaft assembly.
    3. Temporarily install bolt B.
      NOTE:

      Do not tighten the bolt.

    4. Install bolt A and tighten bolt B.

      *a Front of the Vehicle

      Torque: 35 N*m (360 kgf*cm, 26 ft.*lbf) 

  6. PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD 
  7. INSTALL NO. 1 AIR DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    See step  6

  8. INSTALL NO. 1 LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to INSTALLATION [09/2015 - ] )

  9. INSTALL TURN SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  10. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN COVER (w/o Driver Monitor Camera) 

    See step  9

  11. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN COVER (w/ Driver Monitor Camera) 

    See step  10

  12. ADJUST SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  13. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to INSTALLATION [09/2015 - ] )

  14. INSPECT STEERING WHEEL CENTER POINT 
  15. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    Reset the AUTO TILT AWAY function setting to the previous condition by changing the customize parameter (Refer to CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS [09/2015 - ] ).

  16. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15

  17. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT 

    (Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [09/2015 - ] )

  18. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2015 - ] ).
