Removal [10/2017 - ]: Procedure

  1. DRAIN ENGINE OIL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1 [10/2017 - 11/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1 [11/2021 - ]

  2. REMOVE FAN SHROUD 

    Refer to REMOVAL [10/2017 - ]

  3. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT 

    See step  4

  4. REMOVE OIL FILTER BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 27

  5. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY 
    1. Using SST, loosen the crankshaft pulley bolt.

      *a Hold
      *b Turn
      • SST: 09213-70011 
        1. 09213-70020
      • SST: 09330-00021 
    2. Tighten the crankshaft pulley bolt to 2 or 3 threads of the crankshaft.

      *a Hold
      *b Turn
    3. Using SST, remove the crankshaft pulley bolt and crankshaft pulley.
      • SST: 09950-50013 
        1. 09951-05010
        2. 09952-05010
        3. 09953-05020
        4. 09954-05021

      HINT: 

      Apply grease to the threads and tip of SST (center bolt) prior to use.

  6. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT TIMING GEAR KEY 
    1. Remove the crankshaft timing gear key of the key groove.

  7. REMOVE TIMING GEAR CASE OR TIMING CHAIN CASE OIL SEAL 
    1. Using a screwdriver with its tip taped, pry out the timing gear case or timing chain case oil seal.

      *a Protective Tape
      NOTE:

      After the removal, check the crankshaft for damage. If it is damaged, smooth the surface with 400-grit sandpaper.

      HINT: 

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
