DTC P0712: Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor "A" Circuit Low Input; DTC P0713: Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor "A" Circuit High Input [04/2013 - 08/2015]: Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2015 Lexus IS 250 and 2014 Lexus IS 250. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- INSPECT TRANSMISSION WIRE (ATF TEMPERATURE SENSOR)
- Disconnect the transmission wire connector from the transmission.
*a Component without harness connected
(Transmission Wire) - Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 9 (OIL) - 1 (E2) Always 79 Ω to 156 kΩ 9 (OIL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher 1 (E2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher HINT:
If the resistance is out of the specified range with the ATF temperature shown in the table below, the driveability of the vehicle may decrease.
ATF Temperature Specified Condition 10°C (50°F) 5 to 8 kΩ 25°C (77°F) 2.5 to 4.5 kΩ 110°C (230°F) 0.22 to 0.28 kΩ Result
Proceed to OK NG
Result:
NG
REPAIR OR REPLACE TRANSMISSION WIRE (ATF TEMPERATURE SENSOR). Refer to COMPONENTS [04/2013 - 08/2015]
Result:
OK
See step 2
- Disconnect the transmission wire connector from the transmission.
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSMISSION WIRE - ECM)
- Connect the transmission wire connector to the transmission.
*a Rear view of wire harness connector
(to ECM) - Disconnect the F1 ECM connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition F1-29 (THO1) - F1-28 (E2) Always 79 Ω to 156 kΩ - Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance (Check or short)
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition F1-29 (THO1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher F1-28 (E2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher Result
Proceed to OK NG
Result:
OK
REPLACE ECM. Refer to COMPONENTS [04/2013 - 08/2015]
Result:
NG
REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
- Connect the transmission wire connector to the transmission.
