DTC P0010: Camshaft Position "A" Actuator Circuit (Bank 1); DTC P0020: Camshaft Position "A" Actuator Circuit (Bank 2) [04/2013 - 08/2015]: Procedure

  1. READ OUTPUT DTC (DTC P0010 OR P0020) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Clear the DTC after recording the freeze frame data and DTC.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [04/2013 - 08/2015]

      Powertrain > Engine > Clear DTCs 

    5. Turn the engine switch off and wait for at least 30 seconds.
    6. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and wait 5 seconds.
    7. Turn the Techstream on.
    8. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.
    9. Read the DTCs.

      Powertrain > Engine > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC P0010 or P0020 is output A
      DTCs are not output B

    Result: 

    B 

    CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS. Refer to  CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS [04/2013 - 08/2015] 

    Result: 

    A

  2. INSPECT CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY (FOR INTAKE CAMSHAFT) 
    1. Inspect the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly (for intake camshaft).

      Refer to INSPECTION [04/2013 - 08/2015]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY (FOR INTAKE CAMSHAFT). Refer to  REMOVAL [04/2013 - 08/2015] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY (FOR INTAKE CAMSHAFT) - ECM) 
    1. Disconnect the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly (for intake camshaft) connector.
    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F27-1 - F1-12 (OC1+) Always Below 1 Ω
      F27-2 - F1-11 (OC1-) Always Below 1 Ω
      F20-1 - F1-10 (OC2+) Always Below 1 Ω
      F20-2 - F1-9 (OC2-) Always Below 1 Ω
      F27-1 or F1-12 (OC1+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F27-2 or F1-11 (OC1-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F20-1 or F1-10 (OC2+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F20-2 or F1-9 (OC2-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE ECM. Refer to  REMOVAL [04/2013 - 08/2015] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
