DTC P0985: Shift Solenoid "E" Control Circuit Low (Shift Solenoid Valve SR); DTC P0986: Shift Solenoid "E" Control Circuit High (Shift Solenoid Valve SR) [11/2021 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSMISSION WIRE (SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SR) - TCM) 
    1. Disconnect the F156 TCM connector.

      *a Rear view of wire harness connector
      (to TCM)
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F156-15 (SR) - Body ground 20°C (68°F) 11 to 15 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG

  2. REPLACE TCM 
    1. Replace the TCM.

      Refer to COMPONENTS [11/2021 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to

    Result:

    PERFORM A/T CODE REGISTRATION. Refer to  REGISTRATION [11/2021 - ] 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSMISSION WIRE - TCM) 
    1. Disconnect the F175 transmission wire connector.
    2. Disconnect the F156 TCM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F175-18 (SR) - F156-15 (SR) Always Below 1 Ω
      F175-18 (SR) or F156-15 (SR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (TRANSMISSION WIRE - TCM) 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SR 
    1. Remove the shift solenoid valve SR.

      *a Shift Solenoid Valve SR

      Refer to DISASSEMBLY [11/2021 - ]

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Terminal of shift solenoid valve SR connector - Shift solenoid valve SR body 20°C (68°F) 11 to 15 Ω
    3. Connect a positive (+) lead from the battery to the terminal of the solenoid valve connector, and a negative (-) lead to the solenoid body. Check that the valve moves and makes an operating sound.

      OK

      Valve moves and makes an operating sound.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE TRANSMISSION WIRE. Refer to  COMPONENTS [11/2021 - ]

    REPLACE SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SR. Refer to  COMPONENTS [11/2021 - ]
