DTC P0724: Brake Switch "B" Circuit High [11/2021 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Turn the engine switch off.
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    4. Turn the Techstream on.
    5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / ECT / Data List / Stop Light Switch.
    6. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Powertrain > ECT > Data List

      • ON: Depressed

    Result:

  2. CHECK STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION 
    1. Check the stop light switch assembly installation.

      Refer to INSTALLATION [04/2013 - ]

      OK

      Stop light switch assembly is installed correctly.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    SETTING CORRECTLY. Refer to  INSTALLATION [04/2013 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY - TCM) 
    1. Disconnect the A56 stop light switch assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the A118 TCM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A56-2 (L) - A118-23 (STP) Always Below 1 Ω
      A56-2 (L) or A118-23 (STP) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY - TCM) 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. INSPECT STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Inspect the stop light switch assembly.

      Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION [04/2013 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS [09/2020 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  5. REPLACE TCM 
    1. Replace the TCM.

      Refer to COMPONENTS [11/2021 - ]

    PERFORM A/T CODE REGISTRATION. Refer to  REGISTRATION [11/2021 - ]
