Removal [09/2013 - ]

  1. TABLE OF BOLT, SCREW AND NUT 

    HINT: 

    All bolts, screws and nuts relevant to installing and removing the instrument panel are shown along with their alphabet code in the table below.

  2. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH  . Refer to REMOVAL [09/2013 - ] - Step 1
  3. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work. Refer to PRECAUTION [09/2013 - ] .

  4. DISABLE AUTOAWAY/RETURN FUNCTION 
    1. Disable the autoaway/return function by changing the customize parameter. Refer to CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS [09/2013 - ] .
      NOTE:

      Record the current customize parameter setting (whether the autoaway/return function is enabled or disabled) in order to restore the current setting after finishing the operation.

      HINT: 

      Performing the above operation causes the autoaway/return function to be disabled when the engine switch is turned off.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Operate the tilt and telescopic switch to fully retract and tilt up the steering column assembly.
    3. Turn the engine switch off.
  5. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
      WARNING:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      NOTE:

      When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2013 - ] .

  6. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH

    1. Apply protective tape as shown in the illustration.

    2. Using molding remover D, detach the 6 clips and remove the instrument side panel LH.
  7. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL ORNAMENT

    1. Apply protective tape as shown in the illustration.

    2. Using molding remover B, detach the 4 clips and remove the instrument panel ornament.
    3. Disconnect the connector.
  8. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Using a screwdriver, detach the claw and remove the switch base hole cover from the No. 1 instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly.

      HINT: 

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Remove the bolt.

    3. Remove the screw <C>.
    4. Detach the 5 clips and claw and remove the No. 1 instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly.
    5. Disconnect each connector.
  9. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the 2 screws.
    2. Detach the 2 claws as shown in the illustration and remove the No. 1 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.
    3. Detach the 2 claws and disconnect the DLC3.
    4. Disconnect each connector and each wire harness clamp.
  10. REMOVE DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL [09/2013 - ] - Step 9
  11. REMOVE HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2013 - ]

  12. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Apply protective tape as shown in the illustration.

    2. Remove the 2 clips.
    3. Detach the 2 clips and remove the No. 2 instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly.
    4. Disconnect 2 connectors.
  13. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the 4 screws and combination meter assembly.
    2. Detach the 2 claws and open the connector cover.
    3. Disconnect the connector.
  14. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY 
    1. w/o Rear Seat Entertainment System:

      Refer to REMOVAL [09/2013 - ]

    2. w/ Rear Seat Entertainment System:

      Refer to REMOVAL [09/2013 - ]

  15. REMOVE MULTI-MEDIA MODULE RECEIVER ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL [09/2013 - ] - Step 13
  16. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH

    1. Apply protective tape as shown in the illustration.

    2. Using molding remover D, detach the 6 clips and remove the instrument side panel RH.
  17. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Apply protective tape as shown in the illustration.
    2. Using molding remover B, detach the 12 clips and remove the instrument cluster finish panel garnish assembly.
    3. Disconnect each connector.

  18. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Detach the 4 claws and remove the No. 2 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.
    2. Disconnect the connector.
  19. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL  . Refer to REMOVAL [09/2013 - ] - Step 7
  20. REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL [09/2013 - ] - Step 8
  21. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the 5 screws <C> and glove compartment door assembly.
    2. Disconnect each connector and each wire harness clamp.
  22. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Detach the 10 clips and remove the instrument panel finish panel sub-assembly.
  23. REMOVE ACCESSORY METER ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL [09/2013 - ] - Step 16
  24. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH  . Refer to REMOVAL [09/2013 - ] - Step 11
  25. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH  . Refer to REMOVAL [09/2013 - ] - Step 12
  26. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL [09/2013 - ] - Step 4
  27. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the No. 1 instrument panel speaker panel.

  28. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (for LH Side)  . Refer to REMOVAL [09/2013 - ] - Step 5
  29. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (for RH Side) 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  30. REMOVE NO. 1 SPEAKER HOLE COVER  . Refer to REMOVAL [09/2013 - ] - Step 1
  31. REMOVE FRONT NO. 3 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL [09/2013 - ] - Step 2
  32. REMOVE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) (w/ Telematics Transceiver)  . Refer to REMOVAL [09/2013 - ] - Step 10
  33. REMOVE TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR RECEIVER ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL [09/2013 - ] - Step 4
  34. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect each connector and each wire harness clamp.
    2. Detach the 2 claws and disconnect the cooler thermistor.

    3. Remove the 8 bolts <A> and 2 bolts <E> and nut <F>.
    4. Remove the 5 bolts and nut.
    5. Detach the 5 clips and remove the instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly.

  35. REMOVE NO. 3 INSTRUMENT PANEL STAY 
    1. Detach the 5 claws and remove the 5 No. 3 instrument panel stays.
