Installation [10/2017 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL NO. 1 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR 
    1. Install the No. 1 exhaust manifold heat insulator to the exhaust manifold sub-assembly LH (TWC: Front Catalyst) with the 3 bolts.

      Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf) 

    2. Install the No. 1 exhaust manifold heat insulator to the exhaust manifold sub-assembly RH (TWC: Front Catalyst) with the 3 bolts.

      Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf) 

  2. INSTALL EXHAUST MANIFOLD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (TWC: Front Catalyst) 
    1. Install a new gasket to the cylinder head sub-assembly.
    2. Temporarily install the exhaust manifold sub-assembly LH (TWC: Front Catalyst) with 4 new nuts.

    3. Using a 12 mm deep socket wrench, tighten the 4 nuts in the order shown in the illustration.

      Torque: 21 N.m (214 kgf/cm, 15 ft.lbf) 

  3. INSTALL EXHAUST MANIFOLD SUB-ASSEMBLY RH (TWC: Front Catalyst) 
    1. Install a new gasket to the cylinder head sub-assembly.
    2. Temporarily install the exhaust manifold sub-assembly RH (TWC: Front Catalyst) with 5 new nuts.

    3. Using a 12 mm deep socket wrench, tighten the 5 nuts in the order shown in the illustration.

      Torque: 21 N.m (214 kgf/cm, 15 ft.lbf) 

  4. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK GUIDE 
    1. Install a new O-ring to the No. 2 engine oil level dipstick guide.

      HINT: 

      Apply a light coat of engine oil to the O-ring.

    2. Install the No. 2 engine oil level dipstick guide to the cylinder block with the bolt.

      Torque: 21 N.m (214 kgf/cm, 15 ft.lbf) 

    3. Install the engine oil level dipstick.
  5. INSTALL FRONT PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for AWD) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  6. INSTALL NO. 1 EXHAUST PIPE SUPPORT BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the No. 1 exhaust pipe support bracket sub-assembly to the automatic transmission with transfer assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 43 N.m (438 kgf/cm, 32 ft.lbf) 

  7. INSTALL FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (TWC: Rear Catalyst)

  8. CONNECT HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR 

    See step  5 [10/2017 - 09/2020], or see step  5 [09/2020 - ]

  9. INSTALL FRONT CENTER FLOOR BRACE 

    See step  6 [10/2017 - 09/2020], or see step  6 [09/2020 - ]

  10. INSTALL REAR NO. 2 FLOOR BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Full Cover Type) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 78 [10/2017 - 09/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 74 [09/2020 - 11/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 74 [11/2021 - ]

  11. INSTALL REAR NO. 1 FLOOR BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Full Cover Type) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 79 [10/2017 - 09/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 75 [09/2020 - 11/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 75 [11/2021 - ]

  12. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER BRACE (for 2WD) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 100 [10/2017 - 09/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 100 [09/2020 - ]

  13. INSTALL AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [10/2017 - 09/2020] , or refer to INSTALLATION [09/2020 - ]

  14. INSPECT FOR EXHAUST GAS LEAK 

    See step  9 [10/2017 - 09/2020], or see step  9 [09/2020 - ]
