- REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1
- REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9 [10/2016 - 10/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9 [10/2017 - 09/2020]
- DISCONNECT HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10 [10/2016 - 10/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10 [10/2017 - 09/2020]
- REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
- for Type A:
- for Type B:
- REMOVE HOOD LOCK RELEASE LEVER PROTECTOR
- REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY
- REMOVE UPPER FRONT FENDER PROTECTOR
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2
- REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY
- Tie a string to the end of the hood lock control cable assembly.
HINT:
Use a length of string long enough to pass through the engine compartment.
- Pull out the hood lock control cable assembly from the grommet as shown in the illustration.
HINT:
Leave the string inside the grommet.
*1 Hood Lock Control Cable Assembly *2 Grommet - Disconnect the string from the hood lock control cable assembly.
- Using a screwdriver, disengage the 5 clamps.
*1 Hood Lock Control Cable Assembly *2 Clamp HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- Pull the hood lock control cable assembly from the engine compartment to remove it.
HINT:
- When changing the hood lock control cable assembly from type A to type B, the hood lock control lever sub-assembly must also be changed to type B.
- When changing the hood lock control cable assembly from type B to type A, the hood lock control lever sub-assembly must also be changed to type A.

- Tie a string to the end of the hood lock control cable assembly.
