REMOVAL (To 08/2009): Removal

PRECAUTION
WARNING:

NOTE:
w/ Navigation System for HDD:

After the engine switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, make sure to wait at least 60 seconds before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
WARNING:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

NOTE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to INITIALIZATION .
REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH
HINT:

Use the same procedure for the RH side and the LH side. Refer to REMOVAL - Step 3 .
REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH
HINT:

Use the same procedure for the RH side and the LH side. Refer to REMOVAL - Step 4 .
REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL GARNISH RH
HINT:

Use the same procedure for the RH side and the LH side. Refer to REMOVAL - Step 22 .
REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 11
REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 12
REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 35
REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 40
REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
WARNING:
When storing the front passenger side knee airbag assembly, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.
1. Check that the engine switch is off.
2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.
  WARNING:
  Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
3. Put protective tape around the front passenger side knee airbag assembly.

4. Remove the 3 bolts.

5. Disengage the claw and 2 pins to separate the front passenger side knee airbag assembly.
6. Using a screwdriver with the tip wrapped with protective tape, disconnect the airbag connector to remove the front passenger side knee airbag assembly.
