REMOVAL (To 08/2009): Removal

HINT: 

Refer to the procedure up to Remove No. 1 Console Box Duct. Refer to REMOVAL - Step 56 .

1. Check that the engine switch is off.
2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.
   WARNING:

   Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

3. Slide the slider to release the lock, and then disconnect the connector.

   NOTE:

   When disconnecting the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

1. Remove the 2 screws and disengage the 2 pins.

2. Lean the instrument panel and disengage the 5 hooks.

3. Disengage the 5 hooks to remove the front passenger airbag assembly from the instrument panel safety pad assembly as shown in the illustration.

1. Disengage the clamp.

2. Using a screwdriver with the tip wrapped with protective tape, disconnect the 2 airbag connectors to remove the instrument panel wire assembly from the front passenger airbag assembly.
