REMOVAL (To 8/2009): Removal

  1. PRECAUTION (w/ Navigation System for HDD) 
    NOTE:

    After the engine switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, make sure to wait at least 60 seconds before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    1. Disable the auto tilt away function by changing the customize parameter. Refer to CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS .
      NOTE:

      Record the current customize parameter setting (whether the auto tilt away function is enabled or disabled) in order to restore the current setting after finishing this operation.

      HINT: 

      Performing the above operation disables the auto tilt away function when the engine switch is turned off.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Operate the tilt and telescopic switch to fully extend and lower the steering column assembly.
    3. Turn the engine switch off and disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
      NOTE:

      When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to INITIALIZATION .

  3. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL GARNISH LH  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 22
  4. REMOVE NO. 1 SWITCH HOLE BASE  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 23
  5. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 24
  6. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL HOLE COVER  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 27
  7. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL HOLE COVER  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 28
  8. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL 
    1. Remove the 2 clips and 2 screws.

    2. Disengage the 4 clips and 2 guides, and remove the No. 1 instrument cluster finish panel.
  9. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 screws.

    2. Disconnect each connector and remove the combination meter assembly.
