DTC P3226-562: DC/DC Boost Converter Temperature Sensor; DTC P3226-563: DC/DC Boost Converter Temperature Sensor: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HV) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check if DTCs are output.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      P3226-562 or 563 only is output. A
      Any of the following DTCs are also output. B
      DTC No. Relevant Diagnosis
      P0A93-346 Inverter cooling system malfunction

      HINT: 

      • Turning the power switch on (IG) with the service plug grip and inverter cover removed causes interlock switch system DTC P0A0D-350 to be output.
      • P3226-562 or P3226-563 may be output due to a malfunction which causes the DTCs in the table above to be output. In this case, first troubleshoot the output DTCs in the table above. Then, perform a reproduction test to check that no DTCs are output.

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (INVERTER WITH CONVERTER ASSEMBLY CONNECTOR). Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 

    NG → CONNECT SECURELY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK QUANTITY OF HV COOLANT. Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 

    C → CHECK FOR COOLANT LEAKS AND ADD COOLANT 

    B → ADD COOLANT 

    A: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK COOLANT HOSE. Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 

    NG → CORRECT THE PROBLEM 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (ACTIVATE THE WATER PUMP). Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 

    NG → See step   8 

    OK: Go to next step 

  6. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (CONTROL THE ELECTRIC COOLING FAN). Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 

    NG → See step   27 

    OK: Go to next step 

  7. CHECK HV COOLANT (CHECK FOR CONDITIONS THAT MAY HAVE CAUSED FREEZING). Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 

    NG → See step   19 

    OK → See step   26 

  8. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (ACTIVATE THE WATER PUMP). Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 

    B → ADD COOLANT 

    A: Go to next step 

  9. CHECK FUSE (IGCT NO. 3). Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9 

    NG → See step   14 

    OK: Go to next step 

  10. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (WATER PUMP WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY CONNECTOR). Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10 

    NG → CONNECT SECURELY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  11. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR). Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 

    NG → CONNECT SECURELY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  12. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WATER PUMP WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY CIRCUIT). Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12 

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  13. CHECK WATER PUMP WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13 

    NG → See step   28 

    OK → See step   29 

  14. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (WATER PUMP WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY CONNECTOR). Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 14 

    NG → See step   21 

    OK: Go to next step 

  15. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR). Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 

    NG → See step   22 

    OK: Go to next step 

  16. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WATER PUMP WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY CIRCUIT). Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 16

    OK: Go to next step 

  17. CHECK WATER PUMP WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 17 

    NG → See step   24 

    OK: Go to next step 

  18. REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU. Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 18 

    NEXT → REPLACE FUSE (IGCT NO. 3) 

  19. REPLACE HV COOLANT. Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 19 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  20. CHECK WATER PUMP WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 20 

    NG → See step   28 

    OK → COMPLETED 

  21. CONNECT SECURELY. Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 21 

    NEXT → REPLACE FUSE (IGCT NO. 3) 

  22. CONNECT SECURELY. Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 22 

    NEXT → REPLACE FUSE (IGCT NO. 3) 

  23. REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR. Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 23 

    NEXT → REPLACE FUSE (IGCT NO. 3) 

  24. REPLACE WATER PUMP WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 24 

    NEXT → REPLACE FUSE (IGCT NO. 3) 

  25. GO TO DTC CHART. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART 
  26. REPLACE INVERTER WITH CONVERTER ASSEMBLY. Refer to COMPONENTS 
  27. CHECK COOLING FAN SYSTEM. Refer to Cooling Fan Circuit 
  28. REPLACE WATER PUMP WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to COMPONENTS 
  29. REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU. Refer to COMPONENTS
