REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Ottoman): Removal

CAUTION: Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the seatback spring, seat adjuster and seat cushion spring may injure your hands.

HINT:

  1. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH  (See REMOVAL )
  2. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Detach the 2 front hooks of the seat cushion from the vehicle body.
      NOTE:
      • If the areas close to the insertion location of the rear seat cushion lock hooks (A) are not lifted straight up, the cushion spring may become deformed.
      • When lifting the rear seat cushion assembly, lift it quickly so that force is applied directly to the hooks. Do not lift it slowly.

      Specification 

      AREA MEASUREMENT SPECIFICATION

      Area Measurement
      a 114 mm (4.49 in.)
      b 100 mm (3.94 in.)
    2. Remove the seat cushion.
      NOTE: Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
    3. Disconnect the connector.

  3. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Operate the ottoman switch to move the ottoman to the return position.
    2. Remove the 2 clips and 2 nuts.
    3. Remove the seat cushion ottoman part.
    4. Lift the comers of rear seat cushion assembly RH to disconnect the rear seat cushion lock hooks.
      NOTE:
      • If the areas close to the insertion location of the rear seat cushion lock hooks (cushion assembly corners) are not lifted straight up, the cushion spring may become deformed.
      • When lifting the rear seat cushion assembly, lift it quickly so that force is applied directly to the hooks. Do not lift it slowly.
    5. Remove the seat cushion.
      NOTE: Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
    6. Disconnect the connector.

  4. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION AIRBAG ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
      CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
      NOTE: After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
    2. Remove the wire harness clamps and disconnect the connector.
    3. Remove the 3 bolts and rear seat cushion airbag.
  5. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the outer belt anchor.

    2. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and open the cap of the rear seat shoulder belt guide.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    3. Remove the seat belt from the belt guide.

    4. Remove the bolt and pry out the junction block.
    5. Disconnect the 3 connectors.

    6. Disconnect the connectors and wire harness clamps.

    7. Detach the seatback's upper rear side fastening tape. Using a clip remover, detach the clip.
    8. Remove the 2 nuts from the lower part of the seatback, and disconnect the air duct from the vehicle.
    9. Disconnect the seatback from the seat adjuster, and lift the seatback upwards to remove it.
      NOTE: Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

  6. REMOVE REAR SEAT CONSOLE BOX  (See REMOVAL )
  7. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the outer belt anchor.

    2. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and open the cap of the rear seat shoulder belt guide.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    3. Remove the seat belt from the belt guide.

    4. Remove the bolt and pry out the junction block.
    5. Disconnect the 4 connectors.

    6. Disconnect the connectors and wire harness clamps.

    7. Disconnect the rear air hose.
    8. Detach the seatback's upper rear side fastening tape. Using a clip remover, detach the clip.
    9. Remove the 2 nuts from the lower part of the seatback, and disconnect the air duct from the vehicle.
    10. Disconnect the seatback from the seat adjuster, and lift the seatback upwards to remove it.
      NOTE: Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

  8. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts, nut and seat adjuster.
      NOTE: Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
    2. Disconnect the air duct from the vehicle body.

  9. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts, nut and seat adjuster.
      NOTE: Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
    2. Disconnect the air duct from the vehicle body.

  10. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the 4 nuts and seatback adjuster.
      NOTE: Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

  11. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Disconnect the 2 connectors.
    2. Remove the 4 nuts and seatback adjuster.
      NOTE: Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
